Kinda cool coincidence, the GE song for tomorrow is Tyler Farr, "Damn Good Friends". When Tyler first came to town, he got a gig, cooking at Tootsies. He used to make us sandwiches for the band guys. After a few months, they started letting him sit in with the band. The guy did the best Steve Perry impersonation I ever heard. Absolutely incredible pipes. A bit later, he started fronting shifts and occasionally I'd play bass with him. He then hit it and never looked back but just something about getting to play one of his cuts at one of my events just strikes me as kinda cool. It's one of those true "I knew him when" moments.
