Got the lights today and I'm pissed.

Regardless of what the pay was? Considering you most likely would not have been there without the event, then the pay is linked directly to it. If you made $200, then that's $200 you did not have before. Considering you spent $258, then it's $58 out of your own pocket.
$158 out of pocket .. partner gets half ...

When I get to my partners house we will check the lights out. My issue is that they delivered the lights but didn't ring the door bell. So I come outside to go check this hall out for a reception tomorrow and the lights were left on the porch. What if someone stole the lights?

I wanted to use the lights tomorrow but the place is so small, there's hardly any room for the speakers and controller. So might have to wait till another time. Very small wedding. About 40 people if that many. Should be fun but not much dancing. There's really no room for dancing. I will take pictures tomorrow. The reception is to be from 7 to midnight.

Does anything ever satisfy you? You complain about everything, even imaginary things.

No I don't. It's just that where I live is not a bad place but the next block over into Newark is where a bunch of active addicts either live or hangout. So those lights could have gotten stolen. Thankfully nothing happened to them

Like I said nowadays you never know what might happen at anything. Someone could have come on the porch and opened up box and saw what was in there and had a free gift. Like in Police Academy. Hey free TV. LOL.

UPS never brings any packages to my door. They just set it down at the end of my driveway that is 100 yards from my door where anyone can drive up and just pick it up. I've never had a package stolen. The amp I have comming from GC will be dropped off at the end of my driveway tomorrow according to the UPS tracking info sent via email. I have had latterly hundreds of packages delivered this way with zero issues. Yes I know it happens, but it's not worth worrying about. Just insure the package and if it happens it will be replaced. Very simple and easy to do. You can also have any package sent to the nearest terminal and go pick it up yourself if you live somewhere where it happens a lot. But to start a thread over an imaginary scenario is ridiculous.
You better quit DJ'ing because you might get shot in a club or get in a fight, get stabbed, or any number of bad things can happen.
Set up a few bait packages loaded with dog shit and leave them on your doorstep.

You're talking about living in fear all the time. Not me. I just go about my day and know God's looking out for me. There are people who live in fear about what could happen all the time. Now to be fair those people in Pa. and California weren't expecting something like that to happen. They didn't know that would be their last day alive.

so you don't live in fear but you live in "i'm pissed...what if...." Clearly God's looking out for you---but not your lights.

I'm confused...were the people in PA and CA expecting to get lights too? Lights they couldn't live without??

And there are those who don't believe in Alternate Realities ..

My point was some people live on panic mode. Worrying about what ever could happen. No there's nobody that is exempt from things happening to them. Just some people go overboard and live in fear all the time. We do live in a very crazy world today. Things that we thought would never happen have happened. There was a time you didn't hear or think a person would walk into a place regardless of the type of place it is and randomly just killing people. I'm not talking 1 or 2 people. I'm talking a bunch of people just for no apparent reason getting slaughtered.

So there are people living on the edge in fear all the time but who can stay home 24-7 365 days a year because something might happen. That's crazy. Obviously nobody knows the exact day and time there number will called and it's over for them. If you did know you would lose your mind trying to fit everything you want to get done in your life today. That's impossible. Nobody has that kind of time or energy to do that.
