I disagree dude. My friend says it's our big day and wants me to get excited. I

Your partner wants YOU to get excited, because he obviously needs you to do all the work.
Like getting the normal wedding information every DJ needs to do a wedding.
Did either of you contact the bride to get it?

I talked to that venue as I stated already. That wedding was never booked there. They made it very clear they were doing zero weddings.

Also it not your big day and this is the problem with you are your partners entire business model, oh wait you dont have that either. It is the Brides big day not the DJs.
Sir you're right about it being the brides big day. I hear what you said about the venue. I was just going by what someone dealing with the venue told me. Actually what they said it was a go and needed to talk to the couple for the details. Only a few days ago we were told the wedding wasn't going to happen there. I'm not arguing with you. I'm just going by what I was told.

Here is the scary part. i knew more about the wedding than he did.
The truth is I'm more into getting details first to find out if I want to do the event a potential client is contacting me to do their event. My partners focus is on the money they want to spend. For me that's either last or almost the last thing I want to talk about.

I like getting as much details as I can with the initial conversation so that if we do the job that we do a great job for the client and don't make us look bad. It's understood people know they have to pay you for your services. That part can wait until the proper time to discuss that.

A partnership like that can work great if either of you knew what you were doing....

Better yet this is now an outside wedding. Are they providing you cover? Fans? a Dancefloor? POWER? A table? Hell what about water for the both of you? it is going to be mid 90's tomorrow with high humidity. How are you going to control over heating? or The possible thunderstorm that could happen how will you protect the gear? Did either of you ask these questions?

None of that falls in the "show up and do what we do" creedo.

Unfortunately, it is the "do what we do" part we are pointing out that needs to be changed ..

Got to say I'm pleasantly surprised how well things are turning out. I will make a gig log either today or Monday.

A DJ with 30 years experience should never be surprised that an event is turning out well.

We all have a time when things go the "other" way .. this is Mix's ..
