TJS...IF the theme is truly Oktoberfest, then I have several German Polka, Umm-Pah-Pah songs that can almost put you there at a Munich Oktoberfest. Give me a call or I can call you. No rush...seems like plenty of time left. Agree that when you have your face-to-face meeting to sort out music, etc. will be helpful.

Sweet! Will do. Thanks for the offer. I may end up taking you up on that!

WHOA here Horsey!!! Oktoberfest is German. Start playing Polish polkas and the Blitzkreig may start up again.

German polkas are heavy tuba oompah pah and a whole helluva lot slower than the Polish counterparts.

Do your search on German-style polkas or German or Austrian polka bands, not just polkas.

And don't forget a schottische, waltz, and Rhinelander too.

I live in a Volga German (Russian German) community and do a lot of polkas. The town I'm in has a big Oktoberfest every year (although I usually do a Old West living history thing with community theater--we have a rich old west tradition too) but I usually have to do a fair amount of polkas and waltzs and can send or help with songs

Cap is right go with the German polkas but if you ever need any Polish polkas I have lots the local Polish society gifted me a bunch when I did a function for the club anniversary a few years ago

Man, I'd appreciate that, Jeff. Are you willing and able to send them in a zip file the way Cap did? That worked really slick.

Thanks, I'll take you up on that. If you're able to send them in a zip file, that'd be awesome!

I bought a double CD of Polka music at a pawn shop years ago. Never had to play more than a couple so far. Looks like Cap has you taken care of!

We haven't talked about the details just yet. It's for a local brewery (not German).Because they had planned on a polka band at first, I'm naturally assuming they were going to expect to have at least a good number of polka, just not exclusively that. I just knew my 5 polka songs wouldn't cut it. :tired:

If they are looking for a real Oktoberfest feel...
remember that there is more to German music than polkas.
Which is good, especially if you have several hours to fill.

If it were me....I would Google "Oktoberfest songs"....
and then use Amazon Prime to get them.
