Gear you regret selling

I've hardly ever sold anything so no regrets :)...Well I regret I'm running out of space and my wife is fixing to kill me but other than that :)

I really loved my Yorkville Unity system, but my back still thanks me for selling it all.

I keep everything until I have something better. That’s why I’m the only jacka$$ with passive subwoofers. Don’t want to sell them for pennies on the dollar. But need to sell them for the money.

Gonna start a go-fund-me for 4 JBL SRX828SP Dual 18" Powered Subwoofers.

Maybe I can do 6 years same as cash.

My Alto TS112W’s. The “W”s had built-in Bluetooth. They were rarely used as I was running TS110A’s over TSSUB15’s, but there have been a couple of times since I sold them that I could have used one or both of them, but alas... no Bluetooth speakers.[emoji3525]

Frankly, I don’t really sell much of my unused gear... I pile it up in my garage and in my office and in a spare room in my house until there’s barely ANY ROOM TO MOVE, LIKE A FRIGGIN HOARDER!!![emoji1]

The only piece of equipment I missed a little was my Numark DM 1800 mixer and small calzone DJ coffin. That was the mixer I used for all of my mixes when I was on the radio. The DJ coffin was small and light but fit 1200s and the mixer. I replaced the mixer with a Rane MP-24 which was the DJ standard back then. Since other DJs used the equipment I had to match what was it the clubs. The resulting DJ coffin was twice the size as the Rane mixer was very deep. But I stopped using all that stuff in the mid 90s.8F1D89F3-2922-47B2-8659-5F6FF1C71B18.jpeg

Selling. No.

I wish I was able to obtain higher selling amounts on most of the stuff I sold over the years, BUT in the end, I got my use out of the stuff, and they sold for money, so not worried about it.

I kinda wish I never bought the Chauvet LX10 scanner light years ago. It was only a $69.99 light, and I think I paid $64 for it on Ebay, BUT that light was under whelming. Also, the Alto TS212 speakers were a weak buy, and I did not get that much longevity out of them before I traded them for newer speakers. BUT I don't regret buying them.

There were a couple of real cheap wired LED chinese up lights I wish I hadn't bought because they were defective out of the box.

I once sold a Clay Paky [Italy] multi - rotating gobo / scanner and spotlight with reflective mirror for the bargain bargain basement price of $180USD complete with a DMX control unit .It was near to new condition when I sold it.

It had cost me around $4000USD and that was the distributor price as I was their NZ representative .

I only used if a few times each year but it was big & bulky however i regretted selling it when a bride wanted a moving spotlight on her entrance and I ended up having to hire something that was really crappy and then realizing that i should have kept the Clay Paky.

I regret selling my other QSC 2450 amp and a pair of Earthquakes. Those 2 are the main ones I regret selling. Now I thought of a thread about stuff you're glad you sold. I'm glad I sold those JBL JRX 125 speakers.

I regret selling my pair of JBL MRX 528s to go all EV for my big system. Replaced them with 4 QRX 218s and replaced the 4 JBL STX 828s I had with 6 EV Phoenix 2181 subs ended up with better rig requiring less power

You guys SELL your old gear???
I have to .. I used to buy so much to test and try .. I wouldn't have a place for it all.

Not as much as I should... I have tons of stuff I need to sell, but selling it locally is risky... too many low-lifes looking to rip people off... Selling on eBay is OK, but then have to deal with shipping hassles. I’ll gitter done eventually, because stuff is piling up.[emoji1]

There are places you can store stuff. They are called storage units. That's where you pay them to store stuff when you don't have the space to keep it somewhere else. LOL. Mine changed the name from Uncle Bob Storage to Life Storage. I used to use another storage company but picked them because at the time I saved about $60 for the same size unit. The other one I was paying almost $200 a month.

Doesn't make sense to pay to store something you probably will never use again. Also, the cash coming in let me play with even MORE gear.

I rarely sell stuff but powered speakers are something I just don’t keep around, I just do t trust them to last when unused for long periods of time, I have a huge amount of old passive gear dating back into late 70’s I have a vintage gear room built into my garage that must have 40 speakers in it and at least a dozen amplifier, I also don’t tend to keep lighting around, any of the old spin and pukes I did have have now been relocated to the roller rink, the kids get a kick out of them
