I would have expected some of the rescheduled spring weddings to need a new home on dates you likely have open. Have you seen an uptick in calls looking for fall dates?
EVERYTHING is dead right now. No venue, DJ or photography calls, at all. I'm hopeful that I will pickup some of the reschedules (for the venue) but at this point it's all just dead. I also don't feel that I need to make a trip to Alabama to work on the venue as it would expose my 80-something year old parents unnecessarily.

Maybe you can rent the venue building out as a hospital for Oneonta coronavirus overflow .. :)

I have approx. 210k in gear. I don't really ever get excited abt gear purchases at all anymore. I might buy a few of those Rockville wireless up lights but I don't really have a need for anything. I have 20 wireless up lights currently. and 52 ADJ Mega HEX pars wired if needed. I have peaked as far as the amount of gear I wish to own unless I come up on a deal I can't turn down I just don't see the need to have the latest and newest.

I’ve cut back on gear purchases as business revenue has declined. I’m reassessing my future prospects. That doesn’t mean my interest has diminished. I still like cool gear. I just haven’t been buying much.😊 I’ve also had to focus more on my health the last six months.

It's time for some re-working of the re-worked.

I still have a few things I'd like .. a few more of the RockWedges, maybe another smaller pair of powered speakers (an 8" or 10" set for small gatherings), and maybe replace a couple of my wireless mics with ones in better frequency bands. I guess I'd like a slightly larger (more channels) digital mixer .. don't really need it, just want one ..

Like many, I had a bunch of unused stuff .. got rid of some, still have cases, speakers, and misc. rack gear to go ...

I have not had a SINGLE INQUIRY come in since all this started.

Well, I did pick up 2 weddings from another DJ whose weddings were post poned to dates he was already booked on. ...BUt I am not counting those.

It appears, any engaged couples who were in the planning stages of their weddings are putting it all on hold for the time being until this passes!

I believe this WILL affect WINTER later this year. I think corporate might be real iffy on if they throw holiday parties. Also, I think couples who were considering SPRING 2021 weddings that have not booked their venue/vendors yet are now thinking to post pone to summer/fall next year. I know some people are thinking we might deal with this every time there is a outbreak of whatever sickness is in the media moving forward. ...This won't be the first time they shut everything down over a epidemic/pandemic. ...They may do this same thing over the FLU in future years...Closing schools etc.

I just purchased a Mackie DL1608 mixer that has been used 3 times for a price I couldn’t pass up. Not sure if I will use it as my main inventory or sell it for a profit.

I can see them closing things for a pandemic - but it seems the last one was 100+ years ago. This is not / will not be a common thing.

I had a Presonus 16.4.2 digital board, but it was remote controllable only if you connected it to a laptop via Firewire and then connected the tablet to the laptop .. not very convenient. I use my Allen&Heath ZED 12FX for most things and I currently have a small Behringer XR12 digital rack box I bought to play around with .. Not enough channels if I have anything of size, so I'd like a larger version, and one that isn't Behringer .. :)

Don't say ever! ....Remember, Government has now successfully turned near half the population into hysterical Germophobes! ...THe Germaphobia is very real, and there will be calls to shut things down for things more often moving forward when the shut downs won't be needed. ...Some people believe these shut downs were never needed...Who really knows?

Maybe they will run more of these exercises in the future, and see if we can flatten the curve on the common cold and Flu strains by closing schools down, and social distancing everyone. ...People seem to want socialism more and more as time marches on any way, and the Capitalists have shown the public where the priorities generally go any way. Why not shut the economy down? Isn't it worth it if we can save some lives? Colds are terriible...EEWW...We don't need them! Let's shut everything down to get rid of these illnessess that have been running rampant in our society causing people to due for all these years! ....It's possible!

... who in the world is spending money for new exciting gear in this uncertain climate? Hard to justify it when whole months of your calendar are wiping clean...
I am.
Perhaps not new or exciting.. but, I've put maybe $30K into new gear in the last 6 months, and still have orders on the way. It's unfortunate I just lost $25k to the corona virus - but, I'm hoping to be fully prepared for new opportunity as soon as the Government and Media return to common sense or the Government is over-thrown entirely.

I've added an entire Fife & Drum section to my music library in preparation for the coming revolution.

My wishlist right now includes some upgrades. Roland VR-50HD MKII, Midas M32R, four QSC K10.2 and a pair of QSC K8.

I am on the get rid of it mode. Been selling anything which hasn’t been touched or used. Anyone that comes by to buy gets a list of stuff for sales. Replaced the old van with a new one, car with a new SUV and might get a EV for retirement and/ or my rep work. Something super efficient. I have been putting too many miles on the SUV, using it for small events, daily Driving & vacations, now a Bryan driving it. Other than that I am due to replace another laptop. I see a few things changing when all of this settles down or a couple of my events will have to be Modified.

Seems right now it would be a buyers market with so many dumping gear for money. Things will return to normal and with so many being shut in for so long, they will be wanting to get out and start having group fun again. The longer this goes on, the cheaper gear should get. So now might be like the stock market, buy when prices are at an all time low so when things pick back up you will be set.

There's a difference between a want and a need. We all have things we want. Sometimes we have to put our needs ahead of our wants. Some have more than enough that they don't need a thing. For me I find I have to watch out for my obsession to use. Because I'm a recovering addict. See once I get started it's a job slowing me down. Sometimes what slows me down is when I run out of money to spend. Bottom line is it's about prioritizing things.

I should have added especially at this time when some don't have jobs coming in and struggling to make ends meet.
