Mix this one is for you. It was recorded two years ago in downtown Chicago in the afternoon. I’m not sure who is DJ but they did a really good job. I used to do outdoor gigs at the colleges during primetime, they were always fun especially when the weather was perfect. It looked like the people were heading to work then stopped to enjoy the music. I have to finish watching the whole thing and I might converted so I can listen to it in the car.

I thought you might like it

Since this for me I have to chime in. Just from the little bit I listened to you damn skippy that's stuff I LOVE! I love that it's deep underground house music and what that is music that is not the same old songs you normally play for a crowd that to me is boring. The music and a crowd that wants to hear the same old tired songs is boring to me. Yet my job is not about me. It's about what the client wants and pleasing the people attending the event. Every once in a while I get to do an event where I'm the DJ and it's fun for me.

I posted it just for you. No jokes or pun intended, I just saw it pop up on my Facebook feed as I have quite of few friends who are into house music too. Along with guys who worked with in the 80’s. I am a little before house as went I was in college I used to go to the Paradise garage 79-83 to see Larry spin. That was a crazy time as I was spinning for 4 or 5 distinctly different audiences/music and up until 1984 kept them all separate. Then we started Video Dance Parties and we integrated everything replacing bands for many events.

I thought of having fun with this thread. This is for all here. What style or styles of music that makes the event/gig that makes it a fun event for you? My 2 favorite styles of music to play at an event is deep underground house music and Classic Soul music. The first one for me is about not having to play the old songs I've played at least 500 times. That may be a bit off but you get the point.

I love playing Classic Soul music because I get to play stuff that takes me back to a time when most of the artist doing music at that time had real talent. Besides I love playing for an older crowd because I get to take them back and play some music that they haven't heard in years or I get them by playing a song that blows their mind. It gets them to think wow he knows that song.

Ok in both cases I find those kinds of events are fun safe events to do. I stress the safety part because that's my main concern today when doing an event for a client.

So Mix, if you don't like to keep playing the same old stuff, Where are you getting your new House tracks from????

Track source is one place. Haven't been on there in a while because I already have a ton of songs that are not the standard stuff.

Mixy, When you get a chance, would you mind showing us a play list?

I have to find out how to do that with VDJ when I get back. I'm in South Jersey right now celebrating my birthday. It was Tuesday and I turned 62.
