Flashy suits? Yes or no?

Of course, I never take myself seriously enough...
so I would definitely wear one of those jackets for the RIGHT occasion.

My tuxedo guy is now featuring flashy but subtle.
They are dark colored jackets (blue, maroon, green, purple) with black paisley designs.
They are just flashy enough for a DJ, but not too much.

I'm a firm believer that if people remember your outfit as a DJ, you did it wrong. Too flashy, too old fashioned, too new fashioned, too dull, doesn't matter. Look sharp, not memorable.

It's like eating or sitting. If you aren't playing the right music, they can see your misplaced outfit better...."that guy in the stupid tux plays terrible music.

I might rock the mirror ball one for a retro party (I think Chuckie has one of those too). Maybe the copper colored one in the 2nd photo.

I think some of these for the right party would be great

A lot of it depends on the types of gigs you do and your business philosophy. If YOU are the show, then wearing a flashy “costume” is certainly appropriate. I can’t picture a wedding DJ as being “the show” as I think the bride and the wedding couple are the show, so having a DJ drawing too much attention to himself could be problematic... unless the wedding couple want that.[emoji4]

... Rod Roddy used to go to Thailand to have those suits custom-made, but that wasn't the real reason for the trip.

I lived in Thailand for a time, and the Tailors there ARE amazing. As an artist, it was a lot of fun to draw up a design, then work with a tailor to choose fabrics and colors, and have it made. I had my entire wardrobe made and wore those custom clothes for a couple of years afterward... But styles change, bodies change and clothes wear out.

For weddings my goal is not out dress the groom if you will, so its a simple button up shirt and tie with slacks and dress shoes.( light grey with a blue a tie to be exact is what I just wore) .

I do kind of like that blue jacket on the top right, I could wear that one....

Since my name was drooped lol ... For a wedding, I'm usually all black with colored shoes. We are not the show at weddings, but you do have to remember that we are entertainers. The wedding might be ABOUT the B&G, but we are the "face of the fun"....

At other events, a corp party, or a NYE party, birthday party, themed party, we are the show. We mix, or blend, we hype, or talk to, we play videos, or not, but people hire us, come up and ask for a card because of what we do.

Is your style going to fit everyone? No. If someone doesn't like the fact that I wear purple shoes at a wedding, they are not my client. I do not try and be that DJ for everyone. I try and be that DJ that has clients that I also enjoy, that I can do what I want to do and be who I want to be.

If your style is boring, mix it up and dress like a waiter, that's fine. If you want to spice it up and wear something else, that's fine to and nobody should say it is wrong.

If we all dressed the same, "mixed" the same and wore the same shoes, what would be the point?

Do what you want, wear what you want, and be happy doing it!chuck_the_dj_disco_ball_jacket_spectrum_mobile_dj.jpgchuck_lehnhard-dj_mc_spectrum_mobile_dj.jpgDJ Chuck 4 .JPGIMG_20180901_170645837_HDR.jpg_MG_9483-L.jpgwce (1).JPGchuck_the_dj_disco_ball_jacket_2018.JPGDJ Chuck as Elvis.jpgIMG_20181105_184217456~2.jpg36500399_10156180081806391_5538730567257817088_n.jpgIMG_20190314_191958679.jpgchuck_the_dj_disco_ball_jacket_spectrum_mobile_dj.jpgchuck_lehnhard-dj_mc_spectrum_mobile_dj.jpgDJ Chuck 4 .JPGIMG_20180901_170645837_HDR.jpg_MG_9483-L.jpgwce (1).JPGchuck_the_dj_disco_ball_jacket_2018.JPGDJ Chuck as Elvis.jpg

That's an impossibility.

If and when you grow up you are nothing like him!
What? Sheesh, I'm only 72, I guess there is no hope!

Seriously Chuck, you're doing it right! I've always said I'm really not sure what happens when we die, but I am pretty sure this part we get to do just once. Make the most of it!!
