Was just loading up for my gig tomorrow and noticed some chipping on the bottom front of my sub... do u guys recommend any particular paint or....idealy some sort of flat rubber wrap around trim to pretty it back up and make it a tad more durable?

Thanks steve... that might be the ticket... id definitely prefer some sort of rubberized plate or something...instead of painting it every few gigs....such a pain...

its down on the very bottom so even if the paint wasnt an exact match it will be hidden in the shadows id hope

I used truck bed liner on my old speakers.
It does have a little more "stretch" than regular paint.
It's less than $10 a can (spray can) and I used one can per speaker.
As for a paint match, I did tape off the important parts and sprayed the ENTIRE speaker.
oh dear...that prospect scares me...lol... i do love the idea of the truck liner paint tho!

Really was not difficult....even for ME!!!
The speaker I had used a metal grill to cover the entire front face
so I covered that with one sheet of newspaper.
I removed the handles (6 screws each)
and taped a small piece of paper over the speaker connections.
Since the speakers were "textured"...and the truck bed liner is fairly thick...
I didn't have to be real neat with the paint.

I have used this on a set before; turned out pretty well.

Rustoleum Flat Black Protective enamel is what I use. for the bottom of subs I have used the truck bed liner coating from Lowes. Duratex is good just overpriced to me lol The truck bed lining from Lowes isn't cheap either but works well did my whole ramp door on my trailer too the texture in it is great for grip.
