Did my first wedding since, well, a long time ago. First event since february.

Outdoor venue, 130 or so guests and while the facility had signs and the manager told me masks must be worn...while her staff did wear theirs...NOBODY else did.

Including the catering staff, bartending staff (no gloved either). No guests - a bridesmaid did have one around her chin for a short time. Photographer had no mask either.

Social distancing? HA! The cocktails and ceremony were in a small house on the property...people danced close, stood in line at the buffet and bar close, came close to me to request songs (sober and drunk).

On a good note, this was the first outing for my DMXgo and the chinese uplights - worked fine. It's daylight till what, 9pm or so and an outdoor (pavilion) venue so can't see the lights much anyway, I did bring them as a test. I'll try them again saturday at my next wedding, at a house...we'll see how the 'rules' are followed.

Here in PA the rule is masks and 6' distancing...which NOBODY is doing, so we're doomed.

Doomed?

Really?

Pathetic, if you're serious.

Otherwise,

Hardly doomed. If anything, I was encouraged by our first few events that people are basically over the manufactured scare. By the way, did you see the web article this morning? Hydroxycholoquine and a Z-pac have had spectacular results in taking care of this illness.

Yeah, no clue who or what to believe.

The issue is GOVERNMENT - Allegheny county is where Pgh proper is located. I'm in beaver county and we've had a MUCH higher per-capita death rate due to one old folks home that has always been badly run.

I was in Butler county, borders the northern side of allegheny.

Allegheny had such a jump in cases they shut the bars down again ... after only 2 weeks of being open. And stopped alcohol sales at restaurants and casinos.

Hotels and venues? I don't know.

If this spike continues who knows what may shut down again. (and florida had 11,000 new cases in one day, yesterday). Allegheny only had 983 in a WEEK and they're shutting things down...

Word I've seen is there are THREE strains of covid-19 floating around in the US and immunity lasts 2-3 months...so immunity isn't likely and neither is a vaccine.

Are folks scared? Some certainly are..not apparently at the wedding yesterday.

The health and appropriate social contact of you and your family knows no better counsel than yourselves and your neighbors.

People are quietly taking back their own lives and power, and they have had enough of the Covid Boogeyman. The fact that you can't trust anyone who claims to have "authority" speaks volumes as to why people are quietly rejecting their orders.

We have our share or losers, but in the largest proportion people are not stupid, careless, or reckless - they are self-interested, and that is what has made this country the power that it is. .

I have a 250 person wedding at an outdoor pavilion/venue (Harpor's Vineyard) on July 18th. I met with my couple for the final time this past week and the venue is "encouraging" the same old thing (mask and social distancing). The couple is using colored wrist bands for guests. Orange means "I'm partying from a distance" and green is "I'm cool with hugs and high five's". My first thought is...Man, I could have used all of these color-coded wrist bands when I was single and needed to know what women really want haaa  Second thought is that this is a creative way to handle personal preference without making a big deal out of it.

Third thought is...This has been a history book-making event that has probably delivered one of the biggest blows to people's confidence in any level of governmental (or even medical) authority. What little there was to begin with has been shattered with inconsistency and down right hypocrisy. My wife's mother passed away two weekends ago (78 yrs old). She had a slip and fall and broker her shoulder. Prior to that she had heart and lung issues which were made more critical by the fall. Her issues weren't Covid-related at all...Even tested negative for it). NONE of the family was allowed to see her while she was declining in the hospital. It was torture. We knew she could pass away any minute...and she would die alone. Her husband of 60 yrs wouldn't even be by her side. Family was considered "putting her at risk" yet the doctors, nurses, people who deliver food to the room, empty trash etc all got to come and go freely from the hospital...go home to THEIR family...shop at Walmart, do whatever etc and come back to the hospital with no covid tests done and do their shifts. But somehow the patient's family is considered "risky" to come and go and be with their loved one who is dying. Completely cruel to the family. We brought her home for in-home hospice and she died 4 days later. So when I think of the stupidity of masks and social distancing rules, I think of this and I'm glad people are "rising up" silently against this ridiculousness.

seems the general concensus here is there nothing to worry about, it's all political nonsence and there is no covid19, and if there is it's not anything to be concerned with.

It will be interesting to find out if that's right, or the medical experts are right

I don't think there's "nothing" to worry about, but I think being prudent can't hurt. I prefer not getting it from someone else .. and I certainly don't want to be the one cited in social media for bringing it to the party .. :)

That's not how I see it.
Covid-19 is real regardless of where or how it originated. It was going to happen sooner or later.

The political climate can be framed by recent statements by Al Gore demanding a "reset of Global Capitalism."

From the June WEF summit:

"The purpose of the Great Reset isn’t merely to enact policies that would lead to additional wealth redistribution, but rather to completely overhaul the world’s existing structures and institutions. The world must act jointly and swiftly to revamp all aspects of our societies and economies, from education to social contracts and working conditions.”

Until you've actually been in the room with these people to hear their ideals, listen to their plans, and know that this has been 60 years in the making - you just won't see it coming. I've been in the room - I saw the presentations and I listened to the speakers. I thought they were a bunch of wing-nuts. But for the last few years everything that was set forth to be done has actually transpired - Including the rendering of police and law enforcement impotent.

The full plan is set to be revealed in January 2021 but it presumed that Trump would have been deposed by now, and that has so far failed. It is necessary to replace him with a leader willing to acquiesce United States sovereignty to the new Global Monetary Policy and Authority. That happens under the emergency of climate change. The singular barrier to World Socialism has always been the World Power of the U.S. Military. They never imagined that Donald Trump could win the 2016 election - which is why the subsequent craziness and corruption got so out of hand, so fast.

They Social Democrats are not seeking to take the world by force - they are coercing you to hand it over to them voluntarily. Violence is a very big part of this - but war is not.

Covid-19 itself is not a conspiracy. A pandemic is simply the starting gun they have been waiting for (although Covid-19 is not as overwhelming as what was referenced.) The real gift was George Floyd. Racial tension has always been their political weapon but, no one expected such a perfect storm to play out in full living color on every smart phone across the country.

Prediction: Joe Biden may not live to see the November election, or he will withdraw for a serious medical condition. I'm not suggesting Biden is a conspirator - he's more of an unwitting victim. Joe didn't really see it coming either.

Personally I do believe that this is something we're gonna have to live with no matter what, and it'll have to be viewed similarly to the flu. We can find a vaccine, but 30% will refuse to take it, and more than likely it'll only be 60-75% effective for those that do take it... leaving a big amount of the population vulnerable when combining those two states... just like a flu today. It seems some want to get this down to zero... which is great and all... but once you open up the borders to our country, or we start traveling more, we'll bring it right back in. The only thing that will cause this to disappear is if it loses its strength and it's ability to spread... but from everything shown, it has only gotten stronger when it comes to the spread (not necessarily more harmful or deadlier).

I guess my only question with all these restrictions/masks/etc... what is the end goal? Zero cases in the state, nation, world? Waiting for a vaccine to reduce it to the levels that we had right before Memorial Day?

People are losing patience, and they can add all the restrictions they want, but people will still gather at homes and backyards. Many skipped easter w/ their families, and some memorial day, but from what I've been seeing, everyone got together on 4th of July even though we were at record highs. I suspect they'll gather on Thanksgiving/Christmas/NYE which will just continue the spread.

There does appear to be a cure; hydroxychloroquine and Z-pack, with a new "official medical study" coming out this week that shows 70% cure rate. That is a big number for a medicine and the sooner that the libs who have been politicizing against it will shutup we can get over the fear factor. Second week of November looks like it's the magic day where we're finally past this.

Even if the study is entirely accurate, It’s not 100% effective, and for some reason I feel governor of this state will never be satisfied lol. Gonna start booking out of state only soon.

Hyperbole & conflation.

Perfect example of false attribution.

Chances are, you won't be allowed to do that. If NY and/or NJ are in locked down you're not going to be allowed to traverse state lines to conduct non-essential business. CT for example, would not want you moving back and forth from areas with a surge of infections to serve social events in their communities.

If you want the economy back - you're going to have to face down the looming spector of socialism. Not because there is some evil genius orchestrating a conspiracy - but, because there is a tidal wave of delusional ideas and social justice theory that power seeking politicians are trying to ride ashore to a desolate island where capitalism and it's "crime" of self-determination no longer exists.

I think that is a great idea! Might become at least for now the new norm.

That sounds very redundant.

Evil genius(es) orchestrating a conspiracy = tidal wave of delusional ideas and social justice theory that power seeking politicians are trying to ride ashore to a desolate island where capitalism and it's "crime" of self-determination no longer exists.

Well... as of now for NJ it's just a recommendation to quarantine. Not necessarily a law.

Updated: It's also confirmed that if you're crossing borders for work related purposes, even to a state on the quarantine list, you are exempt from needing to follow those guidelines.
