NSYNC BYE BYE BYE is pretty much a MUST! Try to play it towards the end of the night!

Back Street Boys - I want it That Way...Especially if you have a lot of women on the dance floor. Everybody by BSB is another one.

Lots of 2003-2005 songs will go well. If they are a hip hop crowd, Usher - Yeah, Ying Yang Twins Salt Shaker. Eminem was big in 2002. Gimme the Light by Sean Paul is something I would absolutely play.
Missy Elliot, Jagged Edge, Mariah Carey, hell even Spice Girls they will love. Avril Lavigne if it's a white hometown type of crowd. Ciara, Nina Sky, Petey Pablo, and Lil John! ...I would have a lot of fun with a class of 2002 reunion! :)

Plenty of good stuff from around that time. Quite a few songs from back then I’m still playing now. The part which has me smiling is when someone thinks 20 years ago was so long ago, to me it seems like just last week. 2000s is when I first really started traveling, music was good, people danced their butts off and I enjoyed playing the college circuit.

That's how I feel about the 70's, but hey! Life is like that.

So, the reunion was interesting. Loved the music. But, of a class of 120, only 25 showed up. Huge room, tons of food ordered, basically empty.

The real kicker is that the lady organizing it was supposed to pay me last Saturday, but was out of town. I live in a small town, and she is my friend, so I went anyway. At 9pm or so she said she was going home to get the money to pay me and the caterer. A half hour later we get notified that she is in the hospital with a suspected stroke. Her husband is not taking texts or calls. With only about 15 people left, all of whom know about the stroke, they decide to pay us. I got paid with a bunch of ones, fives, tens, etc. It was nuts. Even got a $20 tip.

Craziness.

My rule of reunions is to cover the 6 years prior to graduation pretty heavily. These were their formative years. I would specifically search for a few of those rarities and novelties that didn't really withstand the test of time. It is always fun to drop a few these throughout the evening. The year they graduated is actually not that big. Graduations are May & June and the hits from early in the grad year were still just climbing the charts. The hits from after graduation don't resonate with the class as bonding tunes.
