Over your entire time performing as a DJ / KJ / Entertainer, what was your favorite event .. and why?
Had a similar experience with a close friend who's family was from out of state. I never met his parents and therefore never knew or needed to know that...they were both deaf. I only learned of that reality during the planning. My initial internal reaction to that news was that I would now, albeit willingly, have to move mountains to make sure that his parents were able to participate like any parent would/should. Turns out my initial reaction was a HUGE overreaction. All that was required was caring, consideration and professionalism to provide for this routine circumstance in their lives. It was moving and rewarding to see how the most minimal efforts assured that his parents and family and guests were in on every moment, every necessary conversation and announcement.Perhaps the one that made the most memorable impression on me, I was recently new to the performing world and being mentored - playing a wedding. The couple did their first dance, the Bride danced with her father and then the Groom danced with his mother. When the groom danced with his mother, there was a person facing the Bride, signing (sign language) the lyrics of the song to her, as she was standing next to the speaker.
I've had lots of other pleasant memories over the years - but that one is always near the top.
