I had a wedding, several years ago, with a bride from L.A. who was a spokemodel on national TV. She had all her yuppie friends in from L.A. and they decided to use a bluegrass band for ceremony and cocktail hour. By the time I kicked it into hip-hop her crowd went nuts, thinking the whole thing was going to be "hick Nashville".

I did a wedding a few years ago where the groom used to play in a band. He quite the band a few years earlier and got a "real" job when she got pregnant.

So she wanted to surprise him. She had the guys from the band all say they couldn't make it. After their first dance, they went off to take more pictures and the guys came out and brought out their instruments and HIS guitar. They plugged into my system and when they came back from pictures, his old band was there ready to play.

They were only supposed to play a few songs but they were having so much fun and the crowd was loving it, they played most of the night and I played during breaks. It was awesome

I did a 40th anniversary a few weeks ago where the couple used to be in a band together it was where they met actually so they brought the band back together for a one nighter for the party. I played between their set and the jam session.

Around here it's not uncommon for someone to break out a fiddle and guitar for a set but I don't think I've ever seen the bride play
