The RCF's are nice for sure but no mixer section and no bluetooth. We do a ton of ceremonies where these features are nice to have.
May I ask, why do you think the RCF's are built better? EV's aren't even released yet.
Yea .. if I were starting over, they would be on my short list. The 500w to the tops really doesn't mean a lot to me personally, since 8 small drivers probably pull a maximum of 40w total anyway.Good stuff Steve, thanks! The mixer section is quite appealing to me, for sure.
I looked at them both. RCF only sends 200 watts to the top and 500 to the sub. EV sends 500 to both, the top and bottom. There are a few subtle differences that made me go with the EV. In addition, I started with EV many years ago. I had the ETX series and just didn't like to see the limit lights, so early, so I got rid of them. But, the sound that EV produces has always been warm and very crisp. I assume that these will be no different. I have also been assured that the limit light issue has been remedied. We shall see.
Ah, I see. The EV sub is a wood cabinet with a dura-tex type paint.
As a Bose user, I would always bring my ToneMatch as a mixer. I want to get away from that. I can now plug the wireless mics into the EV and then stream bluetooth audio to the speakers. The best of both worlds.
I would guess that the Evox hits much harder than the EV wince it has a 15" woofer but I will plan on supplementing the system with an external sub, as needed.
I totally agree. I want a set of the evox 12's. RCF has been stellar for me over 10 years.I went RCF Evox 12 instead. The RCFs go louder, and appeared to be built better. Jury is still out on them for me though.
Based on such amazing reviews, I have decided to invest in 3 of the EV Evolve 50 sound systems. They should arrive in the first week of October.
These will be a great addition to my wedding equipment.
Anyone else investing in this new system?
LD was at the DJ Expo, just not a lot of activity in their booth. There is another column system out there that there has been surprisingly little feedback on, the Maui 11.
There is a couple in our area who have a pair of them. They do live music, DJ'ing, and Karaoke with them, so I've heard them in a lot of different places, with up to 150 people. They're an easy setup, and they sound really good.
I spoke with them, and I think they said that Fender was supposed to be marketing them in the US, but I don't think it happened?
You are right. Fender and LD are one in the same. It's the exact same system but marketed differently. Good catch! There is another column system out there that there has been surprisingly little feedback on, the Maui 11.

They were certainly better than most of the other stuff there. I think you'll like them. You are right. Fender and LD are one in the same. It's the exact same system but marketed differently. Good catch!
You are right Steve... not many places stock these systems but I have never heard feedback from dj's before like I have heard from the DJ Expo. So, I jumped. I have 45 days, if I don't like them or have problems, I'll get the RCF system.
Here's another one. Apparently Alto Black speakers and Denon Delta speakers are the same thing - parent company is InMusic. You are right. Fender and LD are one in the same. It's the exact same system but marketed differently. Good catch!
