Here's my issue. Looking for a better mixing board then the 2 we have. What is best for our setup an analog mixing board or digital? We're not hooking up a computer so does it matter if the board is digital or not? Is it better to use a and analog mixing board since we're not hooking up a computer to the board? Thanks.

Why not buy an controller?

OK, so your post has confused me. Let's say, for example the mixer I have..... It is the Yamaha MG12XU. It has on board effects and a USB port where you can hook into it as a sound card. But, as far as I am aware, it is still an analog mixer. You can't assign channels to other outputs digitally, it is through pushing the buttons assigning the output channels and using the faders and pots. The digital boards I have used (Yamaha LS-9 and Behiringer X32) are a quite different animal the digital boards are usually much more expensive. But, you can control them with tablets over wi-fi, so you could use your new Lenovo (or the old iPad) to adjust while walking around the room.

Thanks didn't know that. I wasn't planning on using it that way but thanks for the insight.

Any mixing board or controller can support multiple speakers. Most controllers will support 1-2 microphones, same as most 'DJ' mixing boards.
Even speakers can support multiple speakers & or mics.

Well, he said it was to connect to multiple speakers for output and having 2 controllers on the input side, so he is trying to ensure he and his partner can each setup their own equipment and use one mixer, it seems.

I didn't read that out of what he wrote. He said he was looking for a better mixer than the 2 they already have. He also said he was not connecting a computer to it. Via Post 3, he said that he has a controller - and was looking to connect 'different things' to this mixer - such as multiple speakers and mics.

He may intend to use multiple controllers - but he didn't state that. All he said was 'different things'.

You're right. I was going off where he said 2 setups. My assumption was he likes his Denon and wanted that and his partner uses the new touchscreen Mix doesn't like. So I read into 2 setups as 2 separate controllers/apps/whatever.

And you are most likely right - just he didn't say it.

I meant when me and another DJ are playing an event together. Not just my partner. My issue is I can't mix a thing off of his touchscreen. I like to feel the wheels and that's how I control my mixing.

Mix at no point in any performance you do will you ever have a need for a digital board. By your own words here over the years you are technologically stunted and that's OK not everyone is up to it. You have trouble running Ipads and equalizers a digital board will be the death of you
