I know Steve was the big expert on these boxes, but does anybody here know if these are compatible with standard chinese 9X18 RGBAW fixtures? I remember I tried one of these with Chauvet Colorstrips, and it wasn't compatible. I'm thinking I'd like to put this into my venue.

I did some more research and watched a few youtube videos. Looks like it should work with my 9X18 fixtures so I went ahead and ordered one. Not sure how long it takes for shipping but hopefully will be able to report back soon in regards to how it works (or doesn't work).

I received my Blackbird today and took it up to the venue. In short, it works incredibly well. All I have to do was shift my base address on the fixtures to #2 (instead of #1) and everything went to working like a champ. Very good little box. Simple, easy to use and effective. That's the way I like it to work.

The designer taught me a trick and I wrote it down but I don't have it with me. As soon as I find it I'll post it up here for you, Rick.

Thanks Cap, appreciate it. One thing I've noticed, the brightness goes down a bit more than I'd like. Other than that, this is just what I've been looking for. I'm sick of the problems from myDMXGo.

The brightness of your uplights when using the sound modes is directly relational to the volume of the music your inputting.

My mixing board has two separately controlled volume outputs so I run my music program into my speakers via the main output but the other line output I crank up almost into the red and it really impacts the brightness.

What mixer are you using and what brand of uplights? Let's see how we can make you event enhancement POP!

I'm using a Yamaha MG10xu coming out of the headphone output (figured the signal would be hotter). It's going to a Donner wifi transmitter and the lights are generic 9X18 chinese fixtures. It's not bad mind you, but I noticed that the fixtures are not as bright as I like.
