Day two at the DJ Expo. Didn’t see anyone from this site this year. My biggest issue with the expo has always been the sound level in the exhibit hall. The past two years they have been providing earplugs but that makes conversations with vendors very difficult. It seems now they have sound police that supposed to make sure that the sound from the booth doesn’t exceed 90 DB. Well, just stepping through the door the average was over 95 DB with peaks of over at 98db. So it’s still very loud in there, the first booth I pasted hit over 114db, so the earplugs stayed in the whole time. Jamz lighting likely had the best looking booth followed by Chauvet both integrated lighting and video panels. Jamz had an effect which looked like a neon-lit fan and Chauvet had an effect which output what I guess were nitrogen Bubbles. Sound-wise I liked the Mackie system that’s similar to the JBL VRX system and the Yorkville Synergy system. In the demo room, that system easily hit 126db on the far side of the room. It kind of reminded me of the Dynachord Cobra system, versatile, scalable and easy to use. But I don’t do the really large events anymore but a system like this would have simplify things greatly.
I always like to pick up something to support the DJ expo so this year I picked up a pair of the Gator framework Stands. With the sleek design, power lift, extra height and carry bag they’ll be Handy

Dynachord was one of the systems I looked at before I purchased my Yorkville system; and seriously considered. I'm going to take another look at them. Are you still at the Expo? If so, can you take a photo of the Dynachord series that may look like the Evox 8 system?

Thanks for the report.

Are the Gator stands packaged in pairs and with the carry bag or some other config?

P.S. Just curious, what was the show price on those?

I paid $225 for the pair with a nice case. Every look very streamline and go up to about 7ft. But I wouldn’t think about putting on anywhere near the Max load of 125lbs on them.

I couldn’t tell if Those Jmaz fans actually moved any air when the blades were rotating but I’d to list them Under architectural lighting. If know some parties I’ve done where if they did move air I would have liked to have them.

The vids i watched looked like the blades turned on an off as they went with the music... between that and their size... they just seem like a bit of a waste

I believe they were DMX controlled but they weren’t actively promoting and using them. Most of the people at the show were mobile looking for the smaller stuff. I am totally unfamiliar with Jmaz but I give them high marks for their booth presentation. Their moving heads in the booth on white were so bright I felt it so much I jumped thinking something burned me. I am not updating any of my lighting so I really didn’t ask any questions.

No I am not at the show, home already, lunch meeting today. Dynacord wasn’t at the show I was just using them just as a reference and I’m only familiar with their Cobra series.

They recently released or are releasing a completely wireless battery powered moving head... so they have a bit of a buzz this year
