DJ Times just announced next year's DJ Expo will be back on the Boardwalk at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino (ex Taj Mahal).

Dates are August 9-12, 2021.

DJ Expo ’21
Headed to the Hard Rock
Atlantic City, N.J. – We have heard you and we have acted – next year’s DJ Expo is returning to the Boardwalk and relocating to one of Atlantic City’s hottest properties.

The rumors are true – the 2021 DJ Expo will take place August 9-12 at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City.

Produced by DJ Times magazine since its 1990 inception, DJ Expo is the DJ industry’s longest-running, most-successful exhibition/trade show.

Presenting its unique combo of tech-driven exhibits, educational seminars and sponsored events, DJ Expo is excited to commit long-term to a property that aligns with our mission at every level – plus, it provides the most modern amenities that any AC hotel/casino has to offer. All of this, of course, is set right on Atlantic City’s legendary Boardwalk.

Working with Hard Rock allows DJ Expo the unique ability to provide a special, music-driven experience that all show-goers will appreciate. This new and exciting synergy will benefit attendee and exhibitor alike.

Also of note: The property features the hotel-and-convention industry’s most up-to-date safety protocols, which include attention to disinfecting detail by the Hard Rock’s “Clean Team.” Accordingly, while restrictions hopefully will be removed or limited by August, DJ Expo ’21 will offer the safest possible environment as it re-invigorates an industry looking for a big bounce back.

We’ll see all of you in 2021… Back at the Boardwalk!

I'm curious if they'll still do a party at Premier in the Borgata, or if Daer Nightclub will win the biz at the Hard Rock.

Premier is a hard venue to beat. That sound system is BONKERS good, with really excellent production. But Daer is newer build.. so I'd love to at least see it.

I looked up photos... Daer looks nice, but about 10X smaller than Premier. Looks like a Funktion One though... :djparty:

The Borgata party was always Promo Only's, as part of their "Summer Sessions" conference for radio programmers and label executives (which, not coincidentally, was always the same week as the DJ Expo). They haven't held the Summer Sessions conference since 2018, so my guess is that any type of official nighttime event will be at the Hard Rock.

Daer is in the space where the Casbah used to be. I'm sure it'll feel somewhat familiar.

BPM Supreme did a party last year there with a bunch of heavy hitter DJs.

That was always the best area. I remember being able to walk up and down the boardwalk and meet people later in the day. I think the casinos on both sides of it are closed so it’ll be interesting to see what they did to the whole area. I’m going to pencil it in my schedule just in case. Bryan heads away to college in August so its going to be tricky if we are doing our back to school tour. Usually we are in the area so it’s a quick drive. Who will be with is the big question.

So .. Registration is now opened

Expo only Free passes are available until June 14.

Thanks for posting. I registered for the free pass, but I'm probably unlikely to go this year. We'll see...

I share that desire to travel... I just wish we weren't talking about Jersey (sorry Taso).
I won't say it too loud, but Wildwood was my summer vacation spot from the time I was 6 until maybe 30 ... AC kind of sucks though .. but hey ..

Stone Harbor 8 miles up the shore was my family's every summer vacation when I was a kid. But we did get to visit the Wildwood boardwalk every year for one night. The 2 areas were...shall we say....a tad different.:sqO.o:

Hmm... My fraternity is holding a reunion near Rochester, NY on the 6-8. I was planning to travel down to Westchester, NY afterwards. Maybe I'll take a day trip to the show to see some old faces. Hmm...

If the border is open by then I may fly in for a Monday to Friday thing we'll see how things are between now and then

I won't be there. We are headed to Myrtle Beach on our Summer Vacation that same week.

I am about 17% certain that I am not going to be bothering with purchasing any new equipment for the long term. I may just plan use what I have until it all breaks down. Just collect as much profit as I can until I decide to stop deejaying. I truly do not see large weddings coming back in my market, and I notice that younger people have smaller circles of friends compared to the past, and families are becoming smaller and smaller as time marches on so I believe weddings will be forever smaller. No need for serious firepower or the latest and greatest speakers and subs moving forward.

I still do need to purchase 8 more WIreless Up lights at some point, but I won't be doing that this year from the looks of things. ...And that will be an online purchase, not something from the expo. I am sure I will buy a new laptop next year as well to add to my laptop collection, lol.

I will still go to the DJ Expo in 2022 for a small get away trip. Assuming I am still eager and motived and the Pandemic is completely over, and events are completely back by then. And assuming it's not on the week we go on summer vacation.
