I'm starting to pay attention to my website again (finally). Today, I happened to pulled up a traffic dashboard from Wix and noticed that the device numbers have changed drastically since I last checked. This is for the past 30 days. Yes, pitiful numbers (only 109 sessions) but the thing that caught me was that mobile access is now 79% of all traffic. Last time I even noticed that number it was maybe 30%-40%. I'm also going to have to re-work how I'm presenting as the photo gallery I have on the home page doesn't resize like it should. Anyways, thought I'd share and maybe get some of you guys to pay some attention to your own sites. Hope this helps.

Mobile is the future. However, my numbers are more 50/50. I think my numbers may be slightly skewed though... only because of the online planner that is accessed from my site. Most people working on their planner do so from their computers... whereas most people researching are doing so from mobile devices.

I've also been hearing that most searches are happening on mobile devices, using spoken words (Siri-Apple). Right now, it's frustrating as I can pull up Siri and ask "Wedding venues near me" and my site doesn't even show up. That's one thing I've got to tackle soon.

it may have to do with your business being labeled a wedding chapel as opposed to wedding or event
venues... in addition, apple is more tied in with yelp, so if you don't have reviews there, you're not as high on the results. Even my business, while I come up, I'm like 15 dj's deep, despite being closer than most. The ones that beat me have multiple yelp reviews.

Ah, you're right! For some reason, apple maps had my category as "wedding chapel". They apparently don't have an option for "wedding venue" on their entry form.

Update. I just went and checked my numbers. Less than a month ago, mobile devices account for 79% of my traffic. Today it's 89%, and that's with 192 hits versus 109 earlier. If you're not geared towards mobile devices, you better get there, quickly.
