You can use it. Using the link ittigger posted above, download Itch. It's a free download. Just don't marry yourself to it - it's a legacy product, and one of these days, when you least expect it, boom.

Serato used to have Itch forums, SSL forums, lots of support for legacy stuff. No more. I just started using Serato DJ myself the last two months, and I have seen a lot of changes.

They were probably working on the PYRO app for phones, and got side swiped by Rekordbox DJ. Put Serato DJ and Mixvibes Cross in a blender, and then back what comes out with the financial power of Pioneer. Believe me, it got their attention. They are preparing for war and IMHO are now 100% Serato DJ (only).

I've been using Itch for a long time, no issues whatsoever. Currently, I bounce between Itch and DJ but I prefer Itch.

Interesting. I never used Itch - never had any hardware that supported it. Might I ask why you prefer it over DJ?

Overall, I think Serato DJ is pretty darn good. Excellent library management. The one thing I miss is a dedicated "song preview" or "pre-listen" function. Having to load a file into an unused player or a sample deck, just to preview it, is primitive.

Probably because I've been using Itch since it came out. I use DJ too but I'm much more comfortable with Itch. In addition, they don't seem to have native mapping for my controller, even though it is on the list.

I don't really use Serato Crates - instead I use the iTunes index (which is beneficial when bouncing between products and versions).

That's strange. I have a pair of Vestax Typhoons I use mobile - I'll actually have two laptops running (with identical libraries), each with a Typhoon, for anything important like a wedding. Otherwise, just one. This is not a criticism of Serato Dj - I'd never be comfortable without back-up for anything important.
At home I use a Pioneer DDJ-SB for trying to impress myself with my outstanding mixing capabilities! Ha!!

I DO impress myself with my mixing ability .. no one else, but hey .. :)

ok thanks... quick question might sound dumb . but do i have to connect my sl 2 box to the controller in order to work or is going to work as plug and play with the build in sound card on the controller?
