Only problem there is I don't have decent portrait of my self other than my official uniform photo for work! Lol

Go pay a photographer $100 and get a decent headshot done.

I've got a cousin that is a semi-professional photographer. Maybe I can get her to shoot it for me.

You are your brand, your photos on your branding material and your site should be the very best possible. They are your first and perhaps the only impression you'll get to make on clients that come across your info who don't know you personally. This is the area where you don't take shortcuts, and you spend as much as necessary to get the very best to make the ultimate first impression.

I figured I was gonna get some flack for that comment. Lol

She has been to school for photography and has actually worked as a photographer before but when her son was born, she stopped doing photography full time and got a steady paying 9-5 job to provide for him. She takes all of our family photos and such and does an amazing job! Her camera costs more than my weeks salary! Lol

What type of clients are you trying to attract?

Taso's brand is great, and I see a lot of DJs use their own name. I chose Bela Sono because it translates into "Beautiful Sound" in Esperanto. Esperanto wasn't particularly important to me, but I wanted something unique that would appeal to brides in particular. I came up with it by spending a lot of time with the Google translate tool, and typing in different things that I thought represented my brand and what I wanted to become.

Idk who she is or what her work is like and wasnt attacking that at all... im just simply saying this is not where you take shortcuts. If she is someone that you're truly impressed with then go for it.. if you're just using her for convenience then perhaps reconsider. The photographer I used for my shots had about $10k worth of equipment and lighting set up... about 6-8 different types of modeling lamps set up depending on the look, as well as a weeks worth of post-editing for blemish removals, wrinkles and shadows removed from clothes and face, and color corrections, as well as to make them more dramatic... and in the end I only needed 3 or photos from the entire shoot.

Oh no brother, you are good! No hard feelings at all. I just had a sneaking suspicion that I was going to get a reply like that. I will get her to do some head shots, and if I'm not satisfied with the result, then I will absolutely look for somebody else. I will not compromise the future of my business just to make my cousin feel good. Family is important, but money is money!

I ordered these this morning!!! I only ordered 250 because I'm gonna get a head shot done next week, put it on the back above my name/number, and then order some more. What do y'all think?

In my opinion don't even put your face on the cards. It'll become crowded and you're not a real estate agent. Also for future cards... don't write serving eastern nc... write Wedding, Corporate, and Private Event DJ. Appearing as if you specialize is key. If you're giving out a card, that means you're able to service them... and even if theyre not from eastern nc, you should still be willing to provide a quote (even if that means they pay for your hotel, flight, or whatever else is involved).

Lastly, while I like these cards, my advice is to always ask at least 5 females about their opinion on any marketing decision you make. They may give you insight a guy just usually doesn't know anything about. This could be colors, appearance, layout, etc. Never make a final decision without getting opinions. I usually have my sis, fiance, her cousin, and 2 past clients that I ask for insight everytime I design something. Theyre all 21 to 32 and just the right age for what I am hoping to appeal to.

I will definitely take that into consideration for the next round!

Oh, I noticed you had no social media on your card. I know you have no website... but social media is your biggest friend till then. Get a facebook business page, and add your instagram and facebook links to your card in the future.
I will make a Facebook page for it this weekend.
