I just checked the tracking number .. said it was to be mid next week but showing out for delivery today. If I have time tomorrow, I'll see what they do.

If not, I'll make one.
I made one .. actually made one with both 6 and 10 channel modes in anticipation of delivery .. which hasn't happened yet. Very easy to make.

OK .. they got here late this afternoon and I pulled one out to test. I'll try to a better comparison tomorrow or Monday.

They seemed built OK for the $$s .. metal chassis and all. Came with an IR remote and a cheap clamp. Color convergence was pretty good .. only 1 or 2 of the built in colors showed haloing (most prevalent with red+blue, maybe they're furthest apart in the LED). Decently bright .. no where near my Blizzards, but they're much smaller. With all colors on, they have a decent and very bright white.

Tried quick with an Obey 40 and a Lixada wireless DMX transmitter. Nothing happened until I realized I had set the address wrong for a "fixture start" .. once I changed it, worked fine. Then hooked up the transmitter to my Aeon Raven Blackbird PFX ( thanks Cap .. AEON RAVEN - DMX BLACKBIRD: PFX edition - (http://aeonraven.com/pfx.html) ) .. also worked fine. I could dial in RGB and either W or UV. Didn't try sound active as I didn't have anything set up. I left the 1 on charge and will see how long it goes on a static color tomorrow .. I'll use a color that uses more of the LED like Orange or Yellow.

I'll try the profile I made in myDMX Go tomorrow as well.

Sounds promising!!

one question....can u explain this a bit more? im not familiar...

Yea .. the Obey controllers work addressing "fixtures", where a fixture uses a set of 16 DMX addresses. Fixture 1 is 001-016, 2 is 017-032, etc. I set the wedges high (around DMX address 100) and rolled it down to what I thought was the DMX starting address for fixture 7 .. I counted wrong and was 1 off .. :)

I downloaded the 40's user guide to figure it out .. :)

Spent too much time doing other things yesterday and then watching my Yankees and Pats win big, so didn't get a chance to fully ring them out.

I did pull the other 3 lights out of their boxes, set the wireless DMX channels and get them running on myDMX Go (with the profile I made). They seem to work well, slight lag, but doubt it would be noticeable in use. Didn't have audio set up so didn't try sound active yet. Had them set on a counter, so there was less than 5 feet up to the ceiling, so colors weren't as nice as when I had one on the floor. Will try today or tomorrow to video them in my downstairs hallway.

So the question is... will you buy a few more and use them?

I need to see how bright they are in a room with higher walls and how the beam looks. I don't provide uplighting service, so these are more for accent around my table, so not sure I need more.

I will say they seem decently built and functionally are pretty good for the less than $95 I paid. I think my single 1st gen Freedom Par (an experiment) cost me almost as much as 4 of these did and these are more usable .. and brighter.
