Help me understand, You want to rent, one time, a piece of equipment to take pictures of your facility that will, logically presumed, be used to sell clients on renting your facility.

What happens when they expect the same results as you proposed in your images?

People hire professional stagers to make a house look it's best for pictures and visits when selling. Renting lights to show what the possibilities are is kinda the same thing. Now if it said somewhere that the lights pictured are included, that's different.

Plus, if he can rent them, then he can rent them again. If someone inquired about the exact lights in the pictures, he can tell them they were rented and I can have them here for $xx, assuming they are available for your date

I would try to find a local rental company that could provide lights for pictures for free. You could take pictures and have the rental company listed on the post.... "Lights provided by Suzie"s lighting. Call 555-1212 for rental info"

Exactly correct. The first order of biz is to get attention with the shiniest penny I can muster. Of course if bookings start popping up quickly I'll just buy one of these and include it on my top-end package (with the appropriate price increase). Right now I'm in the $3k-$8k range but my gut says I'll be at the $5k-$13k range by Spring is entirely reasonable, especially if I can get fog and sparkler fountains in the mix.

I'm taking my 9X18 uplights and source fours down this weekend (along with the blisslights). I'm hopefully going to have 2 helpers so we should get a big chunk of the wall install, painting and exterior staining done by Monday and I'll stage photos Mon/Tues before coming home. Just burned another $2.5k this morning. Will have another $3k-$8k in a few weeks on the bathrooms/suites. BTW, I didn't tell you guys that my painter said she's having a chandelier that's being given to her in January by one of her clients. She's promised to donate it to me and says it's much larger than the one I already have installed. Fingers crossed that it actually does come thru and is what she says it is. I'm pretty pleased with what I already have but if something better comes along, I'll gladly take it. BTW, the floor stain is being completed this afternoon. I'm hoping to have some pics today.

What color are you painting/staining the exterior?

Planning to do dark brown 1X6 trim on the corners and roofline.
I didn't have too good of luck with that on a retaining wall (I think I used solid acorn brown) .. though it could have been the fact the wood was preservative treated and maybe it wasn't fully dry. The Thompsons came off the surface with the weather pretty quickly. I've had much better results with Behr siding stain.

I'll have to take a look, thanks. I'm not wanting a solid color, just a bit of staining that's mostly transparent. My main goal this weekend is interior and the 3 showings.

I acknowledge the capacity to present the "unique" image.

+1 for Behr. That's all I use anymore.

Happens all the time.

Don't you offer your clients add-ons?

Don't you offer your clients add-ons?
Not really. I generally, almost always quote fees based on a consultation that establishes the desired results and then I quote the necessary fees to deliver thereon.

Add-ons are not my style of marketing.

Also, I offer a service, not a fixed location venue. If your marketing images all include fog, lights, chair covers, etc, it is fair for the potential client to expect to be provided those amenities, features, options unless you specifically inform them of any additional costs and that puts you in a up-selling position that is likely unfavorable to the clientele you seem to be targeting.

Make sure you've got a source for dry ice pellets out there in the woods. If it's like kerosene, you'll find it's just not worth the investment.

Ah....good point. There are only "hometown" grocery stores in the closest town. They might not even have dry ice and it'd be a PITA to have to drive 40 miles for it.
