Looking at both, but a bit undecided and wanted to hear some feedback from those who own one or the other or both... Or from the guys and gals who sell 'em...:sqwink:

Thanks!

I have two of the colorstrips....absolutely love them and they are bright. In fact, too bright for my needs, so I'm going to put some 5% tinting on them. The auto-mode is good, but I think running them via a dmx console (hardware or software) would be better. I have them rented out for an upcoming wedding to uplight the head table, which they work great for.

I have a pair of Color Pallets.. if you're looking for a light that does chases like a set of cans go with the Color Stripes.... but if you want bright color washes with some really cool auto programs then go with the Pallets.... to be honest when I can I'm adding the Stripes to the top of my light bar....

It all depends on what you are looking for.... good color washes that are bright and have a large coverage or are you looking for fast and loose?

Rob,

The Strips give a VERY bright wash as well.

Send a couple this way and I'll gladly test that out.... :sqwink:

What I mean though is the stripes seem to be more like a chase light then a color wash..... whereas the pallets are more of a wash with just two of them I have a very wide coverage area. But, they don't excel in the auto programs... don't get me wrong they are cool but... just not as interesting as what I've seen from the stripes.

Kirby we must be brothers from our different mothers. Im too looking into these to complete my lighting needs.

I think my buddy The Maestro has the Strips and they look amazing so Im likely leaning a bit towards them.

I bought one Colorstrip and liked it so much that I bought another. The built-in programs while in sound-active mode are nothing short of amazing! They even react good for the slow songs. In stand-alone sound-active mode, you can set it to random (#23) so it will use all of it's built-in chases or you can specify which chase you'd like to use.

I use one to wash an entire gym for middle school dances; they are that bright. With two, you can do pretty much any mobile gig. The trick is to point them straight-out and not angle it down; that keeps the LEDs from shining right in your eyes. They also look awesome when used vertically. I used them that way for this years Grads / Proms.

I normally just leave one CS O-clamped onto the top of a T-bar so that it's always ready to go. I am going to order a footpedal for further control. I wish they made a table-top easy controller for it. Time to email R&D!

The only benefit I can see in going with the Palette instead is that you would be able to transport it in normal Rubbermaid tubs.

Maestro --- do not waste your time on the footswitch. It's worthless, in my opinion. In fact, you pay for the shipping, you can have it. :)

Randy, thanks I'll take it! Is USPS parcel post OK? I'll PM you my shipping address just in case you're serious.

By the way, why don't you like it? :sqconfused:

I was serious, but after posting this, I decided to try and find a few reviews of it online. There have been some reports of a mal-function within the controller. I want to check into that first to make sure it's not a bad switch first. Hell, I thought it was just a piece of crap. ;) OK?
