I just got the news CES 2021 will be online and Digital only in January 2021. I not sure I was planning to go anyway so it being online will work for me. Las Vegas is going to take a big hit, when I was thinking about going in 2020 most hotels were soldout Months before. But looking at whats is going on in AZ I can not see planning to travel there now. I have to now wonder what else will be delayed, cancelled or done online in 2021. I told my wife we should look to vacation in a Iceland or New Zealand but I think the US is banded from travel there. Well, I’ve got the backyard & beach, I will play a little tropical music close my eyes and pretend.

Yeah, CES is the biggest US trade show. I have gone for the last 15+ years. I will miss it. I am friends with many of the CTA staff that put the show on. This is a huge bellwether. I am sure many smaller shows will see this as all the proof they need to cancel their events. I waiting to see what NAMM will do. As of today, they were still full steam ahead. NAMM normally follows CES by two weeks. I have suffered NAMMthrax on more than one occasion. NAMMthrax is a cold acquired at CES that hits you at NAMM or a cold acquired at NAMM that hits you two weeks later.

So, YOU were Patient Zero ... :)

We got large conferences in open space halls for adults cancelling and going digital 5 months from now, yet just this week some schools down south opened up with 100% capacity , and kids walking packed hallways rubbing up against each other between classes, and packing into small class rooms :dontknow::oops:

So I just Read that NAMM is going to try to have it in person not digital. Let’s see what happens, as far as I read it is still surging in CA. I haven’t been to NAMM 2016. I wasn’t heading out there for 2021 but I’d like to make it back out there again. Maybe hit CES then NAMM with time off In between when things return to normal. May be possible as there’s usually no college events during that time frame.

I'm keeping a close tab on NAMM. I have been heavily involved with the AES training there for the last two years and was on board to help once again. We wouldn't be surprised if they revisit their decision soon. Even if they go ahead, attendance will still likely be way down and some key attractions would probably be cancelled.

Now i just read NAMM will be virtual. That’s what I figured would happen. My trips to CA & FL were already on hold definitely right now.
