Wanted to mention something for any of you guys who are offering advanced lighting services. I just recently installed 3, LED barndoor lights and have them aimed at the center of the dance floor. The shot above is from this past Monday's micro-wedding. I have string lights installed on the trusses, downlighting around the perimeter and 5 chandeliers. When it's time for First Dance, I leave the strings and uplights alone but dim down the chandeliers as dim as they'll go and then turn on the center spots. I do need to do some adjustments and may add another fixture or two but I'm very pleased with the results on these first couple of weddings. I also invested in some 6-foot, fake cherry trees that I'm really liking the look of them. FYI. Comments welcome.

You need to adjust the spot... the upper body isn't hit that well... otherwise it's a good look. Also get a small, not so bright, uplight for each tree and light it in white/ivory.

Yeah, the lights need aiming. I also need at least one more as there's currently only 3. I bought those lights off amazon and out of 6, only 3 of them are still working. I'd really prefer something with a lens on it, to give it that sharp line on the edge of the light, but those lights are expensive and I'm still watching my nickels. Looking over the entire room, it's a very good look. You have color around the perimeter and those center spots really look dramatic, especially with the cold spark units. That's great input on lighting the cherry trees. I may end up buying some more of those and have them spread around the place. They look really good. By next year I'm planning to have everything controlled via DMX, even the chandeliers. I'll have to invest in a better control system however.

Thanks for the input.

You know, I appreciate you guys being kind enough to let me keep talking about venue stuff, and for your input. I do think this same thing could make for a very nice add-on for mobile DJs. A couple of crank stands with spots, uplighting around the room, etc. It really looks good. After I work with this a bit more I'm going to install remote-controlled shades on the windows so I can really crank down the room lights. It's a pretty stunning effect.

It's alright man. You're doing a great job with the venue. How much would you charge one of us to have an event there?
