So it's about the same size as the ELSGO 8BT?

What is your plan for it? Ceremonies?

Mainly Cocktail hour use. I used my American Audio 8 go bt on almost every cocktail hour last year. I got tired of the sound quality, and wanted something better.

I will also use it for many ceremonies, but I want to make sure microphone throw is solid with it before I use it for ceremonies requiring multiple wireless microphones. Any smaller ceremony where I'm just playing the music and this speaker is totally fine for that.

Ricky .. Can you also compare it to a REAL speaker ? :)

I could, but then some will say "Oh well, this is no fair because that is a 12 inch speaker, and the Bose S1 only has a 6 inch woofer in it" ...

First video will be comparing it to other speakers that are built for a similar purpose. The Bose will obviously be the high end speaker of the 3.

Wow that was long
Then I guess you shouldn't have bothered watching it if you valued those 16.5 minutes out of your life so much.

Anyways, as usual it's hard to really judge from any of these types of video comparisons but in this case it's obvious the Bose sounds the best out of the box. The Pyle and AA might be able to be made to sound better with different eq'ing which is why even though those two are obviously lower end in comparison, without taking the time to eq each speaker to taste, tests like these are very suspect as to the true capabilities of any of them.

Thanks to Ricky for taking the time to make the video.:)

I saw a review on another forum and I think a lot of guys missed the point. Some said (for the price) they'd rather get a QSC K8, or EV ZXA1. Even the reviewer compared it to his Yamaha DXR8 and said the Yamaha was MUCH louder. OK, but what about weight, battery, and Bluetooth? I think if you compare the S1 to other battery powered speakers... any of them... it's gonna fare pretty well. The price is too high... maybe if it came with the battery at $599, it would seem a little more reasonable.

I have the AA ELSGO8BT .. and it appears the Bose smokes them ... which is good. I think I paid $320 for the pair at the DJ Expo 2 years ago and a pair of the Bose will run $1400 with batteries or hopefully $1190 the next time Bose has a 15% off event .. still probably worth the $900 more.

I should have bought a pair of the Carvin S600 when they were first introduced .. would have been about the same price ($1200) for a pair. Lately they moved the single price close to $900.

I wish there were more options .. maybe a battery powered version of the Yamaha DBR10, or the QSC K8.2, or any number of decent sounding 8-10" boxes and sold in the $600-$700 per box range.

Thanks Ricky good job

I liked it until I realized you have to pay an extra $100 ($125 up here) for the battery. Seems pretty nickel and dimeish to me. The speaker is also $750 up here

I do wish any of these would come with a decent dual microphone set up 1 hand held and 1 lavalier

The Alto has a reasonably good handheld with it I was pleasantly surprised at how good it was
