Bathroom trailers

I literally know of no one that says ... oooh, you have a budget of 15k+, that'll be $1200 for the crapper. I know of tons that ask what you would like and what type of amenities. From there, they give you a price.

Do you raise or lower your price simply based on the customers budget?

No I did not say that at all. I am saying that I have never seen a nice bathroom trailer at a wedding that was not AT LEAST a 15K wedding.

Most wedding caterers are charging $10,000 for the food and service alone. It's pretty difficult to get the catering for considerably less without going to catering by a restaurant like Carrabas. Then you add in the $800 DJ, photographer, favors, transportation, officiant, etc etc. and that is a 15 to 20K wedding. Pretty standard.

I do not see a family re union client dishing out $1,200 for a bathroom trailer. There are venues that have bathrooms in them that can be rented for less than $!,200 for a family reunion. Or a public park pavillion rental which would have porta potties on site...They might be a walk from the pavillion, but there are potties somewhere. Or there is a bathroom building.

Case in point...My cousin was not even willing to spend $650 on a small bathroom trailer for her wedding which probably had a budget under $4,500 for everything. They had a single porta potty there. Low budget events don't have $1,200 bathrooms on site. Just does not happen. ...And I seriously doubt they are dishing out 10K plus for a family reunion.

Which do you prefer .. bad music or bodily fluids and excrement's? The one you like least is the one that costs more.

Hmmm. If it's Kanye West, it's a toss up

handicapped porta potty with a light inside, sink, sanitizer can be had here for about 150/month. a regular one for 90.

$1200 is a bit cheaper I suppose than septic/leech setup...here few get approved unless it's sand mount, so $40k or more all in. Better than a trailer though, for the same price.

A bathroom is ASSUMED when you rent a venue, right?

The only trailers i've seen have been at home weddings (at farms and such). EVERY venue has REAL bathrooms. Even the one that runs all electricity off a generator!

I don't know how well it would go..."Well Ms Smith, a porta potty is included in all prices, but a bathroom with running water will be an additional $1000"...or ..."if it's a friday wedding we can give you a discount if your guests are will to go behind that tree over there"

I have seen folks use a 5 gallon bucket with a seat on it...in a small pop up duck blind.

I was assuming Rick was doing this for a family gathering because bathroom isn't built yet. , not planning on doing it for rentals

I also believe it's strictly temporary until he can get a septic system in.

So people will spend $1,200 on a bathroom trailer for a family reunion, but only willing to spend $250 for the DJ... If they even have one!

They could be like my cousin was with her wedding and get a single porta potty! $105 rental! Might be less! Her's was only $105 because she lived in the boons and they charged $25 for travel. They can be had for like $80.
Most, sadly and pitifuly, deeeejays have proven they are not worth as much as a turd recepticle.

Some aren't worth a turd receptical. There's a DJ that's been around a long time. I heard him play once and he was s***. The worest DJ I ever heard. My friend who DJs told me to stay home and I didn't listen. I should have listened. I don't drink anymore but I could beat him being drunk! I don't know how the hell he keeps getting work.

And the 12 people at the speaker jams
I don't control who stays and who goes. What normally happens is if it's speakers at an event they have the speaker portion run so long that by the time the dance is to start people are tired and ready to go.

I told one committee that I'm a member of that they run the speaker portion too long that by the time it's time for the dance people are ready to go. I was told people in that area don't usually party.

A friend of mine that's a wonderful great DJ who does functions for the fellowship told me it normally happens and to just do what you do, get paid and keep it moving. I would want people to stay for the dance to hear me play of course. So I would be upset. Then I learned to deal with it. Just do what they pay you to do and get paid. Just thank them for booking you and move on to the next event.

Sure you do .. I assume any guest that was eagerly waiting for your performance would stick around. If they don't then the dancing and your music wasn't as important to them as whatever it is they left for.

Connect the dots Mix.
