I suggest you stop listening to your friends and stop watching any network or cable news. It’s pretty much all lies anyway, and all they are doing is trying to panic you. It’s working, because you believe they’re being truthful. My daughter has quit watching any news, and she’s obliviously happy. Her boyfriend is a leftist, and he believes all the media crap, and he’s in a panic. I get my information from a number of sources who are not leftist propaganda outlets, and not panicked at all. I am aware of the dangers and worse-case scenarios, but there is no indication yet that it will reach those worse-case levels. Actions taken by the Trump administration have been good. Other than the testing issues, they’ve managed the crisis pretty well.

The MSM keeps harping on the testing “failures”. They keep pointing to other countries who did a better job of testing than the USA. What they don’t say is that those other countries did NOT develop their own test. They are using the World Health Organization test, which is only 70% accurate, so they have many people who tested positive when they’re not, and others who think they’re negative when they have the virus. So people are quarantined who don’t need to be, but others who should be quarantined who are not and are out spreading the virus. This accounts for the high infection rates in Germany, Italy, France and other countries.
Bobcat you really think Mixy is going to read all of your post??

Dude... after 30+ years in radio.... that is SO wrong!
The solution to ANY kind of virus or pandemic...is KNOWLEDGE!
You have to let the people know what's going on.
You have to let them know what to do.
You have to let them know what to expect.
Are they talking about "worst case scenario"?
YES!!!! That is the point!
If people don't take this sh*t seriously...it will become worst case scenario.

As we've been saying...
If we make too big a deal out of this...and it turns out to NOT be a big thing...
it's probably be cause we MADE TOO BIG A DEAL OUT OF it...and people heeded the advice.
If the media dismisses it, and it turns out to be a catastrophe....
then everybody screams that they were not properly warned.
Would you rather be kept in the dark.
The media is required by law (it's in the license) to "serve the public good".
Saying there is NOTHING to worry about, and calling it a hoax...(or a leftist plot)
is just wrong.

Dude... Radio is not MSM. Sorry to inform you, most people don’t get their info from the radio. The places they’re getting it are controlled by billionaires and corporations that have an agenda, and they don’t tell you that. Too many people have not figured that out yet, and don’t know how to filter out all the lies, misinformation, and propaganda. For those who can’t filter it out, or don’t take the time to find honest reporting, the best advice I can give is to turn off the NETWORK and CABLE TV news.😊 Local news is more likely to give good, accurate, and honest info. Just ignore the network provided segments.

No I'm not in panic mode. I just was telling what someone sent to me. My partner was in Walmart and he said people were pushing and shoving.

I need to add... I DO get WAY more info from listening to the radio and my local TV news. All the local news anchors are still quite obviously left leaning, but so far, they mostly report the news accurately. They usually broadcast a short national news segment provided by their national network, and very few of them are real journalism, but I just blow that off, because I almost always know more about the topic from my own sources than the network reporters seem to know or report.😊

I saw a meme a while back that went something like:

"I used to listen to the news for "facts" that I'd form my own opinion on .. Now I listen to "opinion" and spend my time trying to figure out what is fact."

Sorry to inform YOU....but almost EVERY radio station in the country is owned by a corporation and run by billionaires.
And many of them DO tell their stations what to say or not say.
And secondly...there is no "agenda" in informing the public.
That is what is needed.
When the MSM is showing a press conference from the World Health Organization...or the Center for Disease Control...
there is no misinformation or propaganda. They don't have an agenda.
But when there is a press conference where a health official is warning you about a pandemic...(which it officially is)
and the president follows it up by saying their numbers are wrong, and that it's not a big deal...
in order to stop the Dow from making his economy look bad...(in an election year)
THAT IS AN AGENDA.
I agree with you about local news...but they are less likely to have access to experts with NATIONAL experience...
which is why we all air network news as well.

A lot of this info comes from health officials, the CDC and the WHO.
Who is more knowledgeable on the subject than them?
There is MUCH more info coming from the CDC and WHO than is being reported. The MSM reports which info THEY choose, and they report it the way THEY choose. In general, the reports are intentionally negative. You can go directly to the CDC website and get the info for yourself. Why listen to someone else’s spin of what it says?

One of those 3 Oklahomans (not counting the 2 Utah Jazz players because they are counted as Utah cases) with the virus has recovered, so we now have just 2.

Getting conflicting reports out of Brazil regarding President Jair Bolsonaro. Some say he tested positive, other’s said he’s negative. If positive, he was very close to Trump for quite some time at a meeting just 6 days ago.

Depends .. since the CDC might also be a biased organization .. (as a "disease" center, they were one of the largest anti-gun research organizations out there and congress put in an amendment to a bill to prohibit them from spending additional funds on that).

This is an opinion piece, but does frame some issues:

I have not seen any indication that the CDC is biased, but I have seen evidence The Hill is.😊 They have done good reporting in the past, but they chased off most of their REAL Journalists. Any government organization is going to have a tendency to cover their own @sses, so you always have to take that into account. But that has little to do with the way the MSM is reporting on the CDC briefings, since they appear to be reporting the info they’re given incorrectly, or reporting info to dispute the CDC info.

I think it's biased .. probably on a personal level, since it appears on both sides .. but it doesn't seem to be completely fact based

Once again, ABC News is SO biased themselves, I just don’t believe much of anything they report. That’s what makes it so hard for people who are at least somewhat informed... What can you believe when a biased source reports on another source’s bias?

This is from the CDC website....
it's pretty much what the media is saying...and what community leaders are implementing.

Goals The goals for using mitigation strategies in communities with local COVID-19 transmission are to slow the transmission of disease and in particular to protect: • Individuals at increased risk for severe illness, including older adults and persons of any age with underlying health conditions (See Appendix A) • The healthcare and critical infrastructure workforces These approaches are used to minimize morbidity and mortality and the social and economic impacts of COVID-19. Individuals, communities, businesses, and healthcare organizations are all part of a community mitigation strategy.
These strategies should be implemented to prepare for and when there is evidence of community transmission. Signals of ongoing community transmission may include detection of confirmed cases of COVID-19 with no epidemiologic link to travelers or known cases, or more than three generations of transmission. Implementation is based on: • Emphasizing individual responsibility for implementing recommended personal-level actions •
Empowering businesses, schools, and community organizations to implement recommended actions, particularly in ways that protect persons at increased risk of severe illness • Focusing on settings that provide critical infrastructure or services to individuals at increased risk of severe illness

Well, fake panic or not, it just cost me my first money. Dental conference that I've been doing A/V for the past several years, just called me to book last week, paid in full then this morning, cancelled and asked for a refund. It was for April 3rd. Bummer.
