It's a better than reasonable assumption then that the video discs I viewed were knockoffs, as many of the eBay offerings are.
Is there a track listing somewhere for the Platinum Series? I had heard about years back, but it was always talked about like a unicorn. I'm not as interested in actually buying the set as just knowing what was on it.
I don't normally do videos .. it would be mainly for casual parties and either on a smaller 32" monitor or projected (my projector is not full HD).Steve it depends on how great your need is. How everything is moving to HD quality or better so in that respect I would say I no. I'm in the process of replacing each track from the collection with a better copy. I can't imagine how bad it would look and sound on my 4K TV or in HD. I gotten rid of all of my movies on videotape. Unwatchable now.
Do you know where I can get a digital copy of the genre/song listing that came with that platinum series from back in the day?I bought a set .. not sure if an original or a copy (they're new discs). 40 discs ... Discs look screened, but not sure what they're supposed to like like. Mine look like this (sorry the image got flipped):

so sorry to hear this sad news...my condolences@DJ TC, our buddy Steve has passed on.
I bought a set from the same guy......they played on a cheap portable single disc CD player, but when I went to use them in my Numark CD Mix 2 (CD Players/Mixer combo) none of them would play and the player locked up and i had to turn the system off and back on just to get the CD out....could not figure at why? Any suggestions?Wow, are they pressed discs? I had gotten a CD-R set from the former president of ETV (they partnered with PO on putting out the set apparently). He said they were leftover from their stock of courtesy replacements for people who had purchased the set, looked just like those but had inkjet printed labels obviously. I've never seen an original set anywhere.
oh crap...sorry to hear about that...wow, i feel terribleso sorry to hear this sad news...my condolences
Hi - I actually got the Platinum Series set of 40 Discs from the guy "socotrading" also and they play on a cheap single disc player but my 20 year old Numark combined CD/Mixer won't read any of the discs. Do you know anyone else selling a set? I'm an old DJ and still use CD's. Thanks!I've got 2 sets I received from Promo Only back in the 90's. They released 1-20 first, then later released 21-40. Even though the set is dated, still some classics tunes.
If your Numark won't read any discs, then you have a faulty system. If it won't read these particular discs, some systems (especially older systems) have problems reading home made discs / bootlegs.Hi - I actually got the Platinum Series set of 40 Discs from the guy "socotrading" also and they play on a cheap single disc player but my 20 year old Numark combined CD/Mixer won't read any of the discs. Thanks. Yes it reads other copied CD’s just not this set. I suspect the issue is the Numark. Thanks againIf your Numark won't read any discs, then you have a faulty system. Man, I haven't participated on this forum in several years (stopped doing weddings in 2017) but you're in luck -- I still get email notifications on thread replies! Here you go.Does anyone by chance know where I can find the corresponding song listing/title/artist/genre catalog for the 40 disc platinum series set? I feel like I saw it on line (digital copy) somewhere but now I can't locate it?
