No, wrong again.

In your initial statement you wrote "If they were always political and still became famous I admire them (...Bruce Springsteen)"

Suggesting Bruce was ALWAYS political then became famous.

Then you say "He was never really outspoken (read political) until 1984"

Since he was born in 1949 and was already famous by, at the very latest, 1974 there is a minimum of a decade of discrepancy in your statements.

I suspect your motivations for admiration are not so much in the timing of the politics but in the actual inclinations of said politics.

But fear not, at least for now, as the United States of America has always promoted for all men, even those that would do us harm, and often through serious sacrifice the inalienable human right to have your opinon, beliefs, politics.

Ok well if you prefer he never hid his political leanings although he never became active until Ronnie Reagan stole his music for a political campaign in 1984. The ironic part is Mr Reagan thought Born In The USA while it was not it was a protest song

After the documentary I know a lot of radio stations dumped his music....Any of you guys refuse to play Michael?

At my bar gig tonight Billie Jean filled the floor
Back in the 80’s there were a lot of people wanted Cat Stevens banned because of some crap he said about Soloman Rushdie. (Sp?) I blew it off. I’m not much on boycotts. Especially when my audience still wants to hear the artist in question. Full steam ahead dude.

I am against protesting and boycotting. I think we should protest and boycott any artists that boycotts or protests anything. It's our right!!

What do you know of Bruce's pre-fame politics?

I've read that it was more his Catholic roots than any politics that influenced his song writing.
Before he became a recording star, Springsteen used to tour the East Coast with his kick-ass rock band Child/Steel Mill (early 70's). I saw him open for Chicago and Iron Butterfly (who he blew off the stage). I can't speak to his religious beliefs, but at the time it was hard to picture him as an altar boy.
