Was planning on a small speaker purchase, but at $999 each, these aren't much more and it would be nice to have a set "similar" to my main setup. No one carries it here .. may have to wait to AC to listen to them. Just curious if anyone saw them at a recent show or store.

Saw those (J8) some time ago... specs looked the same, but J8 is injection molded plastic instead of wood. At the $999 price, though, I might have opted for the J8's instead of the 8's. Could have gotten four instead of three.[emoji4]

You can actually get them for $880 .. that's like a BOSE Compact ... as a remote or spare system could be worth it if they sound decent

I think just as interesting is the EVOX JMIX8. It has a multichannel mixer (not sure how many, but I think 8 channels), and Bluetooth. An app can control the mixer. Same price as the EVOX 8. Might be perfect for a ceremony System.

Yea .. maybe one of each would be a good small system .. $1225 for a Jmix + $880 = $2100 for a system with subs and a mixer ...

No place around here that I know of to listen to, or even buy RCF speakers. I bought my EVOX 8's solely on YOUR recommendation.[emoji4] Only place I heard them was in yours (and one other) video. Risky? Yes, but turned out great.

I haven't found any realistic videos of the J series .. just ones from the music shows. Probably will wait until August anyway, so I can listen down at the DJ Expo.

I just saw Guitar Center is carrying EVOX 8's. I never saw ANY RCF PA speakers there before... Must be a recent development. I'll check to see if they have the J8.[emoji4]

I'll have to look as well

I just jumped in and bought thru Guitar Center one of the J8 and JMIX8 - anxious to see how they perform. I bought them purely on the quality I have learned to respect with RCF. I had a pair of the HD12's and they were super speakers for overall sound quality and very reliable.
I wanted something that included the subs, these are perfect for 98% of what I do.
According to tracking, they are due to arrive my local GC today, so happens I have a wedding gig this coming weekend with guest count of 165 guests, these should be perfect for the event, very anxious to try them out.
I will be happy to provide any feedback I can in the next week.

Yes, please ...

Old thread but new post.
I did my 1st wedding with my new RCF J8s last night. It was a large room with 90 guests. I was a QSC man for many years but I am totally blown away by the performance of the J8s! The music carries much better than my QSCs did, The bass seemed to Thump farther out than it did from my KS112s, and the clarity at high volume was amazing. I played as loud as I usually play and there was still a lot of head room! The best part? I didn't have to hoist any heavy speakers onto a pole or tripod. If you are considering switching to a column array system be sure to add the J8 on your list to listen to.

MikeyGman, On a 1-10 how would you rate he mixer on the Jmix? Is it worth the extra $500?

These are on my short list, interested in more opinions
Before using them last weekend I would have said the only downside was at there is no separate volume control for the sub. After doing a wedding with them I realized that they are so perfectly balanced it's not needed.

While doing my extensive research on these I found 5 star ratings and reviews almost everywhere with the exception of 1 guy that did 2 bad reviews because his speakers were damaged in shipping. The reviews that had the most impact on me were former QSC fanboys like myself! I also called the Edison, NJ distribution/repair center 5 times and got a lot of helpful info there before I pulled the trigger.

All that being said, the only opinion that matters is your own. You have to hear them for yourself. To steal one of RCF's marketing lines... "prepare to be amazed!"

It's the system's woofer, but not a subwoofer - the crossover point is 220 Hz. It's a great sounding system though.

I used to own this system. The mixer is fine, but better suited to a live musician who's going to be less concerned with cable management and appearance. For me, having it built into the speaker was cumbersome - the controls are packed together tightly and it's not the easiest to navigate when it's just 2 feet off the ground. All of the functions are built into an app as well, but that's not any easier to navigate. It is, however, nice to have. On a scale of 1-10, it's a solid 5.

Yeah I was thinking it would be very inconvenient for a DJ to have to go to the speaker to make adjustments. Much better for a musician whom is sitting or standing right there. TY for your input.

I know it's a woofer but it sure puts out a lot of thump. I can feel the bass farther out than I could from my QSC K112 subs. Very happy with them for my applications :D

I absolutely agree with your assessment of the mixer on the JMix8 - the J8 speakers are super! Great sound, powerful and I personally think the low end is better then the Evox8 and lighter to carry. I also agree with an earlier comment that these speakers are all well overdue for an upgrade. RCF makes some very high quality stuff and I believe they do best at just keeping it simple. I like to have some other input sections on the speaker in the event I need to use it as a satellite system for cocktails or such, but a mixer on the speaker itself is better suited for musicians, as a DJ, I found it useless.
The J8 speakers sound great for sure. I have since moved on the the EV Evolve 50's and love them as well. I do not think the Evolves are quite as loud or robust as the J8's, but just my opinion. I keep the Evolves and also just added a Bose Pro 32 system. I feel like I have most venues and events covered for now, anything beyond that I will rent something.

Mikey, the Bose 32 and the J8 have the same SPL. How does the sound quality compare. Is a pair of the 32's worth the extra $4000?
