I did get an acoustic guitar, and a few drum related toys. But nothing DJ related.

Honestly, I'm not sure what I'd even want right now DJ wise. The S-11 looks cool, but my S-9 is in great shape and I don't need the upgrade. And a $2,000 mixer isn't exactly in the ol' Christmas gift category.

Is there anything you guys would want that you don't have from a DJ toy perspective?
What brand guitar did you get? We are currently shopping for one for my 12year old son who takes lessons and plays casually and at church. We were kinda looking for an electric-acoustic. We only have one local spot to shop for them here in person, wasn't sure where to look online.

I did forget, though again not quite DJ related, I did get a laser engraver. Smaller diode based unit .. roughly 6w output power (listed as 20w laser head) .. enough to mark/engrave most non-metallic material and can mark anodized aluminum and coated steel. Can also cut thin (<4mm) wood, acrylic, and cardboard. My son bought it for me .. hope to be able to do things like customized cutting/serving boards, maybe wood or anodized aluminum business cards, etc. Mostly for fun. It has a rotary unit for things like anodized Yeti tumblers and such ..

What's something like that run? Who makes them for the interested consumer?

It is a Breedlove guitar. My wife bought it used, but it is like-new. My friends that know about guitars seem to like the brand, but I had never heard of it until she gave it to me.

I got an Ortur Lasermaster 2 with the rotary unit. I think my son found the package for around $300 (the link below is still showing $298 for the 20w version). Shipped from China in a couple weeks.

For laser work, these diode lasers are "relatively" low powered. The benefit is there is little to no maintenance. I figured the $300 is close to the throw away level should I decide I like it but need something much bigger. I was originally looking at a Glowforge unit (CO2 laser instead of diode) but those are in the $3-5K range and I just wanted to muck around with one.

Just search Amazon or Google for "Laser Engraver" .. there are lots of options ...

One of my buddies was a Breedlove endorsed player for many years. My buddy is from Oregon and so is Breedlove guitars. They used to exhibit in Hall E at NAMM every year before they reshuffled the show. Hall E is where many of the boutique guitar manufacturers were located (as well as the cheap Chinese knock off electronics).
