I ordered an Innofader and will be doing the crossfader upgrade on my Denon DN-MC6000MKII.
Has anyone else done this upgrade? There is a video on the internet and it looks fairly simple.
I guess I might try it if I was getting some bad bleed over, but I hope I won't have to. I have two MC6000MK2's.
I don't scratch, but I use mine all the time. Couldn't be located in a worse spot for those of us who partake of food/beveridge from our hosts!
I'm surprised one of you enterprising young guys hasn't invented a "crossfader food shield"!
Oh, it will happen with the crappy Denon crossfaders.
Actually I'm too busy on gigs to eat, but on my home setup I am sometimes guilty of snacking while working on my library.Food doesn't come anywhere near my equipment. Why not receive the food/drink from the side of year gear, instead of over top?
If you don't scratch, what usually happens is it doesn't wear out - it's contacts get dirty. It has sliding "ground" contacts, that when dirty, don't reduce the resistance to 0 ohms, so you get inter-channel bleed. Here's how to clean a typical crossfader -

Give it time, my friend. When that crossfader starts to bleed, you will know exactly what I mean.
Time???... Don't think I have much of it. I may DJ another year or two, then I'll have to take up something less strenuous.[emoji1] Maybe my controllers will last that long.
