Did you watch that video???? OMG!!! I'm not sure that guy knew what he was doing, but he took darn near every screw and nut off of that MC6000MK2 just to get the fader out!... And that calibration step??? I dunno? I guess I might try it if I was getting some bad bleed over, but I hope I won't have to. I have two MC6000MK2's.I ordered an Innofader and will be doing the crossfader upgrade on my Denon DN-MC6000MKII.
Has anyone else done this upgrade? There is a video on the internet and it looks fairly simple.
Food doesn't come anywhere near my equipment. Why not receive the food/drink from the side of year gear, instead of over top?I don't scratch, but I use mine all the time. Couldn't be located in a worse spot for those of us who partake of food/beveridge from our hosts!
I'm surprised one of you enterprising young guys hasn't invented a "crossfader food shield"!
Actually I'm too busy on gigs to eat, but on my home setup I am sometimes guilty of snacking while working on my library.Food doesn't come anywhere near my equipment. Why not receive the food/drink from the side of year gear, instead of over top?
Per Denon, the crossfader is wearing out. They have a 3 week replacement time. So, I did it myself. If you don't scratch, what usually happens is it doesn't wear out - it's contacts get dirty. It has sliding "ground" contacts, that when dirty, don't reduce the resistance to 0 ohms, so you get inter-channel bleed. Here's how to clean a typical crossfader -

Time???... Don't think I have much of it. I may DJ another year or two, then I'll have to take up something less strenuous. Maybe my controllers will last that long.Give it time, my friend. When that crossfader starts to bleed, you will know exactly what I mean.
A year or two? Your re-building of the re-builds won't be close to finished by then.Time???... Don't think I have much of it. I may DJ another year or two, then I'll have to take up something less strenuous. Maybe my controllers will last that long.
