Anybody here still use Visitrax software?

In the last two years I've gone through several life changes, including moving to another state.

I'm trying to enter a bunch of CD's I've purchased into my Visitrax, but I had to do a reformat on both of my Computers and now the Visitrax is in the 'Demo' mode and won't let me add anything unless I put my original software CD into the DVD drive and enter the activation code.

I know I still had it when I left Denver, but now I can't seem to locate that disk anywhere.

Does anyone know if they are still in business?

I tried to just buy it again at their website, but it won't run any of my CC cards.

Or, maybe there is another option out there that I can just copy what I already have in the Visitrax software and start fresh...

I still have my old Windows XP computer tucked away in the back closet...which was the computer I was using when I purchased VisiTrax.

I'm gonna dig it out this afternoon and see if it will still run the whole version and let me add the CD's to the database!

I'm also hoping that the VisiTrax disk is there with that computer...

It's only $10 for the current version that runs on Windows 10.

I know...

I tried to pay for it, but it won't accept my CC cards...

Which is why I'm wondering if they are still in business.

Seeing as searching Facebook for both "Synapsa" and "Visitrax" turns up nothing, I'd say it's a pretty safe bet that they're toast (and even if they weren't, would you still do business with any company not maintaining any type of social media presence in 2020?).

Could also just use the free Apple iTunes .. does very similar things. I've been using it for 8+ years and the library is readable by all of my software apps directly.

Their website is still up...

VisiTrax pricing and ordering information - (http://www.synapsa.com/pricing.htm)

Which is why I would like to get it going again.

But like I said, since I've been using this software since 2006 and my entire database is in this software, I'd like to keep it going.

If not, maybe I can get it into Excel or something different.

Glad you found the disc... that website was last updated in 2014 and the guy who wrote the program is about 70 years old now.
Makes sense .. the program looks like it has Windows 3.1 compatibility.

That was a great tool. The guy that wrote it was very responsive to feature suggestions. I haven't reinstalled it on my last few computers since I rarely use my CD library these days. I had a fairly good organization strategy for my CDs but Visitrax helped a lot with compilation CDs in larger genres. Maybe he can come up with a vinyl solution since it is now outselling CDs. lol

Yes!

I used it at a gig last Saturday night to search for the tunes...

My feeble peabrain can't remember where the tunes are now that I'm one year from being old...

I'm extremely confused why anyone would use this, so I must ask the stupid question - are you still dragging CD's around with you?
If you're playing mp3's, wouldn't conventional DJ software be easier?
I gotta tell you, my back got sore just LOOKING at your rig!

Yup!

I'm Old Skool!

I figure that since I have all of this nice equipment...why not still use it!

Plus, if you were around back in the days of vinyl, then you know that this is just a drop in the bucket compared to hauling around 3000 albums and 2500 45's, huge speaker stacks, gigantor light shows and 100-pound power amps.

I have all of my CD's in the computer...plus a whole lot more music than that, but I just don't like using the computer to DJ the whole gig.

I do, however, have it plugged in to the mixer board and do play tunes from it.

I started DJ'ing after I had retired, so I skipped the records/cassettes/CD thing and started with mp3's played with DJ software on a laptop. I give you a lot of credit doing it your way, but at 73 years of age, I couldn't imagine dealing with crates of CD's (which I actually have since I've personally ripped a lot of my music), mainly do to the weight. Of late, I've been DJ'ing for a Latin Club, and I enjoy getting obscure stuff they've rarely heard, but I often have to purchase the mp3 because the LP or CD is made out of unobtainium.
