I think I posted about the Novopro Adjustable Totems before .. they come in 2 sizes .. XL (goes to 5'8") and the XXL (goes to 7'2"). Below is the XL version .. goes for about $250, comes with both white and black scrims and a speaker post.

Now Rockville (purveyors of crap speakers) has a version that looks identical .. as in exactly the same. Amazon.com: Rockville RTP32W Church Stage Design Moving Head Light Totem Stand in White: Musical Instruments - (https://www.amazon.com/Rockville-RTP32W-Church-Design-Moving/dp/B07P4CZY2P/ref=sr_1_5?keywords=RTP32W&qid=1557971600&s=musical-instruments&sr=1-5)

Comes in black or white (white pictured) and sells for $150 (either color) and $295 for a pair and comes with the same accessories (though the carry bag is different). I didn't see a larger size, only the 5'8" one.

Any takers :) ???

I bought the novopro xxl's thinking that I could save some space... and well truth is I haven't used them at all yet. They take a lot longer to set up since there are a bunch of screws and bolts, and if one gets lost it's definitely not reliable to stand on its own. Only buy these if you can't fit actual trussing, as it's not simpler in any way to set up.

I have these Totems from Rockville. They fit snug into the carry bags. The carry bags are cheap, but work. At the price point, you can't expect real nicely padded carry bags. They are the same exact ones as the Novo Pro. They are a great value! Nicely built.

They do take a while to set up. To set up the pair, it's about 30 minutes. Then add 7 to 10 minutes for the lights and running the power cords/dmx cables.

I can't set these up by myself with my sound system. If I bring them out, I need an assistant. So they are only offered on my Gold Package...Or they are a $475 add on by themselves. $225 of that goes to paying an assistant to help me out at the event.

I have the question on my planning form, and let my brides know about this add on. Nobody has added them in yet, but I did do a Mitzvah in February where I brought them out.

That’s why actual trusses are the way to go unless you’re limited in space. Trusses take literally a minute or two to put together.

Ps no one will ever ask for anything... you have to sell it to them. It can be done with words and talking to them about it, or a more subtle way with pictures and videos. How do you get video and pics... bring em for free to 2-3 events and get material. Works every time for me when I purchase something new. Take sparklers... bought em... did 2 free events. Have booked em on around 10-12 paid events since January.

I suppose if you HAVE room for full size truss, you could always keep these folding ones fully assembled. I don't think an extra 15 minutes for 2 would be that bad .. we'll see.

Those videos lie!!!!!

Buy them, and find out for yourself. ...It's 30 minutes to set up 2 assuming you don't have any issues. The first time took my brother and I nearly an hour, and I was drenched in sweat to set up 2. ...Had issues with the knobs the first time.

It's also a lot of bending down with your back in awkward positions, so it wears you out pretty good. ....Pretty much need a 2nd person when adding these to a set up realistically. ...I suppose if you have the luxury of arriving 3+ hours early, and you can take your time setting up, you can do it by yourself, but then it's going to take time for tear down as well after the gig.

When I did the mitzvah, I directed my assistant to just focus on the totems as his primary objective, and I did everything else.

With that said, I am sure after much practice, set up time can be cut down. My assistant's first time took him 40ish minutes to complete.

I suppose after you set a pair of them up 20+ times with practice, start to finish product with Moving Heads ready to go could be done in under 20 minutes, but 5 minutes is not happening.

looks like ideally you could transport them put together...but at the lowest setting...then just extend them... obviously youd need a different bag...or no bag at all...

also...i wonder why theyd ever need to make these in different colors? i see they have a black and white option on the metal... id never use one without a scrim...

Everything else I have is black, so white would stand out. I suppose if I did weddings I might have an opposite PoV.

I am a member! I am actually a Black Card Member. $21.99 a month! I have been going 2 nights a week lately. For a while I was going 4 to 5 days a week when I had much more time available. I use to use the Hydro Spa Chairs a lot, but since I work so much lately that has been cut from my routine since I only have about 60 to 80 minutes to work with while I am there. Elyptical for 30 minutes every time. :)
