A Cincinnati DJ Was Arrested For Drinking Vodka From A Gatorade Bottle At An Event That Prevents Drinking After High School Graduation

[WKYT] - A disc jockey at a Kentucky high school’s Project Graduation was arrested Sunday after authorities say he was drunk at the event.
An arrest citation says Denis Ray Rhodes of Loveland, Ohio was charged with drug and alcohol-related crimes during the event at Oldham County High School.
The Oldham County Sheriff’s Office said it received several complaints from bystanders accusing Rhodes of being intoxicated around hundreds of students. Deputies said he was slurring his speech, staggering and smelled strongly of alcohol.
Deputies say Rhodes would admit to law enforcement he was drinking vodka during the event, and they found it in a sports drink bottle. He was also possessing a marijuana vape device with residue inside.
Project Graduation is a program which provides adult-supervised, alcohol-free activities after students graduate.

Some DJs will drink alcohol while working a gig. Some don't see the problem and others see it as unprofessional.

Most people don't care if the DJ drinks ... EXCEPT when it's at a High School event.

They will care if the DJ gets drunk, talking crazy being drunk and making mistakes while doing the event.
Yes .. but that is normally a contract issue at a private event. This was at a school, so the standards are different .. thus he was arrested and not just dinged on social media.

Absolutely NO alcohol or drugs of ANY kind at ANY event. Not even a single drop. And if a staff member arrives appearing intoxicated or even slightly tipsy due to anything consumed before the event will immediately be dismissed.

I even had to replace a dj who indicated inability to perform adequately because of prescription drugs.

ZERO tolerance

We had a guy here a few years ago did exactly the same thing. He avoided arrest but it was the beginning of the end for him

First things first, he is not a professional other than he was apparently paid some fee, like a professional would be.

His ignorance and selfish actions have zero impact on the "image" of any industry in which I or anyone I respect professionally practices.
