Does anyone have or know where I can find a short version of American Pie by Don McLean? TIA!!! It's been requested for a reception coming up as the Groom's Fraternity brother's song.

It's tough to cut short a song whose lyrics are sung to by a group .. That's when the booing starts ..
...There is a version of the song that I have titled American Pie Pt.1 and it runs 4:06 (edited down from 4:11)
If memory serves, rip from an old compliation CD.Where did you get your copy of that version?
Yet it remains a great drinking song ..There’s really nothing uplifting about the song. Some of the lyrics are pretty grim. Some remain unexplained.[emoji4]

I still play it at neighborhood get-togethers and I recall it was a choice for 1 or 2 singers at karaoke. We sang it at our fraternity as well back in the late 70s-early 80s, so it has some good memories. While the song is obviously about the Buddy Holly, Big Bopper, Richie Valens plane crash in 1959, much of the song is about the events of 1969 (for 10 years we’ve been on our own). 1969 was my era, as I’m slightly younger than Don McClean. I played that song (American Pie) a gazillion times. But I’m over it. Haven’t played it or even thought about it in many years.
