We were always a very popular AM station...
but since we are news/talk...we have seen a real increase in listenership.
(judging by the amount of phone calls we get)

I don't have the official numbers but I'm told we have jumped up on our streaming numbers quite a bit on all of our stations

I think there's also a sense of community you get with AM/FM that streaming just don't have. You recognize the DJs voice. A lot of stations do call in requests with sound bytes of the requester on the phone. It's stuff you just cannot get with everything algorythmed (sic) and personalized streaming services.

I find myself tuning into my local TV news (as opposed to NYC news) more often these days. It's nice to see familiar streets and such while I'm stuck in my little town.

Key word is LOCAL.
Studies show the biggest reason people still listen to radio
is the local content.
Even the big voicetracked nationally run stations get a lot of listenership
just by running a little local news, local traffic reports, and local weather.

At least in my case the only AM/FM radios are in the cars, the receiver in the living room and media room and a portable radio we use for going to the drive-in movies. Like CDs we don’t as family we really don’t use them. Everything is streamed and accessed thru iPhones, iPads & Smart TVs. I’d say we are pretty typical like the younger families. So there might be a slight increase but I can’t see it being anything huge.

We do how have access to some radio stations thru the I heart radio app but I’m not sure how that counts towards Listenership. Sometimes I access the local news channels while in the car but we aren’t presently driving anywhere. Well, Saving money not driving and on gas.

How's the ad revenue?

My brother works for the local news paper. Their unit numbers are up but ad revenue taking a nose dive

Most stations you can listen live from their website. Here is our Classic Rock FM station

I can't speak for others but I suspect that they are down quite a bit looking at the logs

Horrible...but we're surviving.

Most regular ads have been cancelled. All ads advertising "events" are gone.
We do have a few 'essential" businesses that have changed their ads to promoted their new
arrangements for sales/service/delivery/take out.

Since we air local talk shows all day, we sell block times for businesses to call in and promote themselves.
Many of them would normally do it live in the studio.
