It's time to update my light show.
I love my self-made rig, but as with most things I do...I am getting bored.
I wanna go back to a basic light show, and possibly add a few of my current lights for added dazzle.

I am thinking of a typical 4-par can system that is pre-assembled...
(with stand, controller and bags)
I am looking at the Chauvet 4-bar...and the ADJ Dotz Tpar.
They are very similar, in effects and price.

I am leaning more toward the 4-bar, as it has options to add extra lights.
However, I know there are more systems out there,
so I was hoping someone knows of other alternatives.
It doesn't have to be exactly like the ones I mentioned...
I am open to all ideas, except for the Gig Bar...which I don't like.
(not a fan of lasers, strobes, or moonflowers)
Feel free to share pics of suggestions you may have.

I have one of these.

The first one I had went on fire and Microh replaced it no questions asked. The second has worked flawlessly but I find it a bit bright

I have a 4Bar and a 4Bar-Tri .. The Tri I got used cheap to replace a 4Bar I broke, but I still tend to bring just 1. I also have 2 Inno Pocket Scans I run on sound active and can either place on the Light stand or on each subwoofer pole.

I have two each of the 4Bar Flex (which can also be mounted on the floor, and has a pass-through hole), and the Mini 4Bar 2.0 (which uses a very, very thin pole). That's two Mini 4Bar 2.0s behind me in my profile pic.
I like the 4Bar Flex and the Mini 4Bar 2.0, but the older style RGB LEDs are getting a bit dated for my taste. I would suggest the 4Bar Tri, which uses tri-LEDs. The foot controller is very useful with the Chauvet 4Bar fixtures, especially when you do not wish to connect them via DMX.

Anyone own and/or have an opinion on the ADJ Dotz Tpar?

I prefer to have various different effects to use. Seeing 4 of the same light as the sole light show through out the duration of the event get's boring to the audience.

Have 2-3 light effects to use through out the night. Then have 1 special effect to use for small durations as an eye popping effect during high energy dancing. Use a controller to control everything. Just don't set them all on sound active and leave on the entire time.

The Dotz Par use COB technology. They look great and have more of a traditional bulb look. I'm not a fan of the litebrite old school LED look. If you go for a Chauvet, look at the 4Bar Tri, I believe.

There's also the newer GigBar LT, which ditches the laser and has moonflowers instead of the mini derbys .. GigBAR LT | CHAUVET DJ

I just use an ADJ T-Bar stand with 2 LED Pucks on the end, an ADJ Jellyfish, a cheap Chinese Crystal Ball (of which I have several if one ever gives up the ghost (they are pretty rock solid) and a Chinese Laser pointing up and POW, I great comments on the light-show - of course I strategically place a few other LEDs around the room and have a sound active DIY light-bar behind my facade to to make things pop a little more. Then again I put more faith in my Video systems than a little light-show.

Steve. The new Gigbar doesn't impress me...and I am really set on getting two AC outlets on the back.
I plan to top this with two pinspots and a mirror ball.
Tim and Jeff , I am certainly envy the simplicity of your suggestions,
but I have a "vision" in my head, and it's all about the four par cans (cans?)
The AUTO programs already installed on these systems are far better than anything I could design.
It gives your whole show a certain consistency, but with a great deal of variety.
Cause it's a bunch of different patterns and colors, but with the same FOUR fixtures.

The Chauvet 4Bar Tri USB is the only one I know of that has 2 AC outlets.

American DJ TPar Dotz system has 2 AC outlets, and they are controllable by remote.

I'd like to see your finished product. Please post. Interested in the mirror ball setup.

You're right .. didn't see the second .. looks like 1 Edison and 1 IEC jumper.

I believe Rob (Jokers Wild) uses the Dotz Tbar system and is very happy with it.
I think he has had it for a year now so hopefully he can chime in with an update on it's performance.
It would be my choice if I was looking for a quick easy setup as it is quite bright and has two beam spread options as well as the ability to mount other lights on top.

Yeah, the Dotz systems has two...
and the 4Bar FLEX has two Edison outlets as well...
(the 4Bar TRI is a bit too expensive for me at the moment)

So, my first reaction is to get the 4Bar FLEX...I've always liked Chauvet...and it is almost $70 cheaper.
but for a few bucks more, the Dotz systems has a footswitch, stand, AND an infrared remote.
I like the way the Dotz system has beam angle adjustments (lenses)
But I'm not 100% sold on the actual light/LED output.
I guess because it just "looks" different....even if it IS a few lumens brighter.

+1 for Chauvet.
