Never worked reliably..it would work for a minute then quit.
Since I got my chinese rockwedges they have no DMX cable, it's their remote control or wifi...

I've had ZERO luck making them do ANYTHING, so I dug out an older par and it won't work either, which got me googling. Seems the DMXgo box defaults to wifi channel 1. Seems 7 and 11 are MUCH less crowded...moving it to one of those has everything working!!

It did twice change channels on me by itself...but I had it run for nearly an hour without issues - first time for that.

Now I'm gonna go in with the hardware manager and try and set it 'permanently'. And test again later today, tomorrow...take it to the farm (no wifi there at all) and test it there.

How were you changing the WiFi channel? You HAVE to use the Hardware Manager app to actually change it .. the buttons on the box DO NOT function other than to dim the LED (unless you use different software).

the up/down buttons on it DO change the channel.
The dimmer does nothing as far as I can tell. Maybe you hold the dimmer and use the up/down?
They most certainly do not change the WiFi channel .. they will toggle between internal offline programs, but you need a more capable software like myDMX 3.0 to set those.

Then why does it NOT connect, or disconnect often - unless I hit the up button to 7 or 11 then it becomes reliable?

I updated it's firmware and changed the default channel. I also got a wifi channel 'reader' app for my phone - it looks at wifi channels in use, distance, strength and recomends what channel to use for a new application.

works at home, if it works here it should work on location at venues. May have to run the hardware manager before every event though.

Lights now work reliably ... will do more testing this week, setup my other lighting as well and see if it all works together.

What app did you end up getting?

I'm using a firetablet, the mydmxgo box, donner recivers for normal lighting and the chinese/rockwedges have the receivers built in.

App wise i"m using mydmxgo and lightrider - they are the same thing, use the same 'account' which you need if you use profile builder to 'make' your light fixtures. Both seem to work.

Apparently my issue is what 2.4ghz channel i'm on...the phone app (just look in the playstore/itunes for 'wifi scanner app' they all look the same to me)

Since I 'discovered' that issue it seems to be working just fine. My wifi router is in the house, and the mydmxgo responds slower in my studio (a detached garage)...not sure why being farther from the router would slow it down, or if there's something else, someone else on a channel that moving 60 feet changes. Reliable, just responds to commands with a delay.

It's gonna get more interesting...I've been using the donner for all my lighting and sushi-ds / lumidesk program for my dmx lighting. They (makers of lumidesk, etc) don't yet support the wedges and don't have a program you can do it yourself.

So my uplighting will run off one setup (wifi for mydmxgo then another 2.4gh for those lights) and then another 2.4 ghz setup for my regular lighting...my transmitter is https://www.amazon.com/Lixada-Wirel...coding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=V0CERYD06WSAWRCK6W43 and it works the the donners and wedges just fine, has 8 or 12 channels...so I'll be changing channels and running 2 setups.

here's hoping all that wireless craptola (and mics too don't forget, and i have a wireless speaker setup as well) all work and don't make me glow in teh dark as the brain tumors grow.

First test is april 18 at a barn wedding...not too bright folks built a barn as a wedding venue with NO KNOWLEDGE OR EXPERIENCE as wedding venue owners...I was their first wedding and they've nto gotten much if any better from what i'm hearing. Gonna run my speakers wireless, they're in the 500 range as are my mics. I've had channel issues in the past, one mic not working out of the 2. Seems I have this sorted.
Shouldn't be much wifi out where they are, first run with the uplights.

Gonna be a real interesting wedding...all camo - well, bridesmaids dresses are camo...i was afraid to ask about her dress.

What app did you end up getting?
