I started with nothing, and used the multi-op's gear AND music.
(but it still LOOKED way better than those)

Chris, you had the same smile even way back in the beginning. It’s funny how many started out with stereo equipment in the beginning. I started out with stereo equipment too but then moved to building speakers. Our first attempt building wasn’t too successful as we didn’t account for the thickness of the wood. Years later got much better I was able to copy cabinets, as working Capital was still tight. But I don’t have any photos from my first couple of years 1975-1977. It’s like we never took time to take any photos until I started college. The earliest pictures I can find were from my High School yearbook, some how I ended up with a full page of me spinning. Guess I was very lucky then.
Now that's what I'm talking about. You got much better as time went on. So you improved over time. That's what others have to do if they are serious. It's not how you start off but how you end up.View attachment 37306View attachment 37313View attachment 37312View attachment 37314View attachment 37319View attachment 37320View attachment 37321View attachment 37315View attachment 37316View attachment 37317View attachment 37318View attachment 37307View attachment 37308View attachment 37309View attachment 37310View attachment 37311
Chris are you using either fog or haze on some of those shots?

Have you done this? Is what you're doing today better than what you used to do?...got much better as time went on...you improved over time...That's what others have to do if they are serious.
yeah i think a couple of them have fog... i have a couple small foggers... would probably pick up a hazer but ive gotten so many "no's" from venues lately ive pretty much quit asking...lol... it definitely makes the moving heads look amazing... but its a little too much for most weddings anyways... i use it for grad parties and the like...

Like I'm sure most of you, I quit using fog machines years ago. Something about that time I set off the hotel's alarm and emptied the hotel................
I'm interested, however, in a hazer. I'm thinking that once I have my own place up and running, and have it fully enclosed, I'm going to want haze. Some very, very subtle but just enough to really make the beams of the movers pop.
Lol, browse the Internet? In 1975 very few had seen a computer. You were really on your own, Info came from magazines or in person. In High School in 77 our school’s computer was the size of three large refrigerators and we had to use Keypunch cards. It’s like we only had stone, knives, bear skins & a slide ruler ( yea I really had one) . For music we had to go into NYC to Rock N Soul, Believe it or not the store is still open just in a different location. The same woman who used to run things was still there a couple years ago.when I stop in.eah back when we couldnt browse the internet for good prices ...we were tethered to our local music shop and their crazy prices
I still rock a BlackBerry in 2019...Lol, browse the Internet? In 1975 very few had seen a computer. You were really on your own, Info came from magazines or in person.
