Sinatra et. al.-- "Young at Heart"
There's also an old blues tune; I'm not even sure of an artist/version for you to look for (maybe Jessie Mae Hemphill??), but it's called "Trying to Break 100" (lyrics-- "Tryin' to break 100, 'cause 99 & 1/2 just won't do!").

I'm thinking songs from 1924 to 1944. Some modern 'story' type songs that fit celebrating 100 would be:

Don't Blink by Kenny Chesney and 100 Years by Five For Fighting.

Here are the lyrics for Don't Blink:

I turned on the evening news
Saw an old man being interviewed
Turning a hundred and two today

Asked him what's the secret to life?
He looked up from his old pipe
Laughed and said, "All I can say is

Don't blink, just like that you're six years old
And you take a nap
And you wake up and you're twenty-five
And your high school sweetheart becomes your wife

Don't blink, you just might miss
Your babies growing like mine did
Turning into moms and dads
Next thing you know your better half

Of fifty years is there in bed
And you're praying God takes you instead
Trust me friend a hundred years
Goes faster than you think, so don't blink

I was glued to my TV, when it looked
Like he looked at me and said
"Best start putting first things first"

'Cause when your hourglass runs out of sand
You can't flip it over and start again
Take every breathe God gives you for what it's worth

Don't blink, 'cause just like that you're six years old
And you take a nap
And you wake up and you're twenty-five
And your high school sweetheart becomes your wife

Don't blink, you just might miss
Your babies growing like mine did
Turning into moms and dads
Next thing you know your better half

Of fifty years is there in bed
And you're praying God takes you instead
Trust me friend a hundred years
Goes faster than you think, so don't blink

So I've been trying to slow it down
I've been trying to take it in
In this 'here today, gone tomorrow' world we're living in

So don't blink, 'cause just like that you're six years old
And you take a nap
And you wake up and you're twenty-five
And your high school sweetheart becomes your wife

Don't blink, you just might miss
Your babies growing like mine did
Turning into moms and dads
Next thing you know your better half

Of fifty years is there in bed
And you're praying God takes you instead
Trust me friend a hundred years
Goes faster than you think, so don't blink

No, don't blink
Don't blink
Life goes faster than you think
So don't blink

Life goes faster than you think
Don't blink
Don't blink
Life goes faster than you think

Here are the lyrics for 100 Years:

I'm 15 for a moment
Caught in between 10 and 20
And I'm just dreaming
Counting the ways to where you are

I'm 22 for a moment
And she feels better than ever
And we're on fire
Making our way back from Mars

15 there's still time for you
Time to buy and time to lose
15, there's never a wish better than this
When you only got a 100 years to live

I'm 33 for a moment
Still the man, but you see I'm on edge
A kid on the way, babe
A family on my mind

I'm 45 for a moment
The sea is high
And I'm heading into a crisis
Chasing the years of my life

15 there's still time for you
Time to buy and time to lose yourself
Within a morning star

15 I'm all right with you
15, there's never a wish better than this
When you only got a 100 years to live

Half time goes by
Suddenly you're wise
Another blink of an eye
67 is gone
The sun is getting high
We're moving on

I'm 99 for a moment
In time for just another moment
And I'm just dreaming
Counting the ways to where you are

15 there's still time for you
22 I feel her too
33 you're on your way
Every day's a new day

15 there's still time for you
Time to buy and time to choose
Hey 15, there's never a wish better than this
When you only got a 100 years to live

Don't Blink is a good call. Thanks for the input!

There's a song called "Older Than Dirt" covered by a number of folks ....

or

Pete Seeger with "My Get Up and Go has Got Up and Went".

If she's a hundred her offspring are in their 70s and 80s theirs are in their. 50s and 60s put their primary focus there with a few for her thrown in

Jeff

At every 60+ major milestone birthday celebrations, this "Perspective" is an integral part of the program at some point. I also bring a couple very green bananas as my gift, presented either before or after reading it to the goh.

I'd at least ask HER for a suggestion.
If I still had to pick one, I'd aim for something from her era (like GJ said)
