Webcam recommendations

Hey y'all....

Gee, I sound like I'm from the South... ;)

I received an e-mail from my father in-law this afternoon. Guess he's been doing some house cleaning, etc since his wife passed & was buried last week.

He asked me if I could recommend a good webcam that would work with a Dell with Windows XP desktop?

Seeing that my webcam's are built-in to the laptop(s), I'm a little out of my element there.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance for your input/suggestions.

Cheers,

Joe

LogiTech and Microsoft webcams have always worked great for me. I got a little $10 job that doesn't have great picture quality but does the job.

Your pop shouldn't have to spend anything more than $30-$40 unless he's using it for webcasts or something. With Skype, Yahoo, etc the compression ruins the image of higher end cams anyhow.

I would second that ...

plus also Quickcams - some of them are very good as well..
