def leave off the bit about mic/technician; after all, generally they are renting for 24 or 48 hours...is your technician available for that duration? and all for $100?
I'm assuming you mean comparable replacement cost and not actual full cost?

We deliver, setup and test then pickup after the gig at the venue. If it's delivery / pickup, you would want them to deliver it back to you .. or are you picking it up from the location / their house?
Would the venue be responsible for holding the materials or would you be there towards the end of the event?
you seriously want to send someone out at 2am to pick up a rental? What if they end early? Who's responsible for your equipment and/or getting you into the facility? (if they take the party elsewhere, the venue is gonna lock up and leave) What if they go late--your staff just gonna hang out for an hour or two till they are done? How far do you deliver for that fee? Questions that come to mind when I look at your ad....If the customer picks up and drops off to you it is easier to make them liable for damages. If you pick up after the event, good luck collecting on the damages bill (i.e. the customer isn't likely there while you check equipment and what are the odds they don't argue that cc charge?) just random thoughts... Rentals can be pretty lucrative...they can also be pretty financially draining...
we rarely rent to individuals; our rental market is pretty much just venues and organizations, which keeps the risk of damage much lower. All of our rentals include delivery (sometimes setup, sometimes not depending on the location and item). The venues we deal with we are totally confident in their handling of our equipment--we can usually deliver and pick up when it's convenient and they will store it safely before/during/after. Without that relationship, we would have to greatly increase our prices and rentals would become more of a PITA than what they pay. In some years we've had a single venue (we only have 1 in town we work with regularly) add up to $5k in rentals at the end of the year....sometimes it's almost nothing.
I'm basing my thoughts on what I've seen lighting, table and chair rental companies do. Events in this area rarely go late and I'm on pretty good terms with most venue operators. I really doubt that I'll have that much in rentals, just trying to give that extra option. My hopes are that I'll be able to up-sell at least 50% of the would-be renters into hiring a DJ. As for damages, I dunno. Kinda having a hard time seeing being able to collect anyway. Just repairs mostly and only go after them if my gear is completely destroyed. It might end up being a loser but I'm going to at least make a run at it and see if the idea works. I'm really thinking that if I lock the gear up so controls can't be fiddled with and have my people do delivery/pickup, I'll minimize the damage done by clients.
'Rarely go late' is one thing .. but IMO, you need to be prepared for these 'what if' scenarios. I think these are all valid points to consider.
What if the event ends early .. and you now have damaged equipment .. but the client is gone?

But this is where some earlier statements come into play .. if I'm not there and you pick it up and claim its damaged, I could say it wasn't.
If you don't figure this part out, you may be lining yourself up for some grief. I'm not saying it would happen .. but in my opinion, the 1st time it does and you're not prepared, you'll hate it.
