OK be gentle with me I know very little about controllers so here goes

What would you suggest? I don't want to spend a whole lot of money I just want something functional. I don't plan on using it alot might use it for the video show and to give the cool factor at certain events. To tell the truth it's more a toy for me to play with.

I notice most of them are ready mapped for Serato. How hard is it to map them to VDJ?

To cue with them do you need an external card or is the cue port built in to the controller?

what are you wanting to spend, I love Denon MC 6000, it has a built in sound card and is factory set up for VDJ, the newer MK2 veriosn is pre set for serato however it is easily configured for VDJ

I have the Numark DJ2GO, but the Mixtrack Edge is a little cooler and has a built-in USB audio and it's only $99 ... http://www.numark.com/product/mixtrack-edge

The Mixtrack is a little more at $120 and has a few more features.

I would really like to move to a mixer with more functionality like the MixTrack series, but the footprint of the DJ2Go is a perfect fit for I currently put the mixer when in use

That's why I have one .. I'm not one to be spinning wheels and such .. I use the platters merely to find sections of songs to cue or loop. I have the controller mainly for the big pause/play button. I use a Denon HC4500 in my main rack and have a DJ2GO and a similar Behringer CMD Micro as a backup. I have though about the Mixtrack Edge since @oldschooldj (Ray) got one .. it's thinner and has USB audio which the DJ2GO and the Behry do not, so it would be a good backup as well.

here is a good starter unit. It comes bundled with VDJ LE.

If you had wanted to experiment with Traktor I would recommend this one:

Thanks guys. I'm still in the thinking on it stage. I was looking to spend less than $500 and it seems there are options in that budget
