You should google the billboard charts for the 1980's by year. Also the time - life "sounds of the 80's cd set is a good source. At cocktail/dinner time you can play a lot of the more 'easy listening" stuff from that era ( think cruisin & being with you from smoky robinson. missing you by john waite, etc.) Later for dancing you can break them up into "blocks". A block of 8o's dance - footloose, wild wild west, any michael jackson, tainted love, love shack etc. Then do a classic rock block from the 80's, shook me all night/acdc - hurts so good/j. melloncamp etc. Next do a "hair band" block, def leppard, bon jovi, motley crue, etc. Get creative and have fun with it!

Don't forget the group Crowded House who had a couple good songs in the late 80's: "Don't Dream, It's Over" (No. 2 for 2 wks on the Billboard Top-40 Chart, and also "Something So Strong."

Also, another good one "Put Another Brick In The Wall" - Pink Floyd.

Didn't George Michael have a "funky" song out in the 80's..."Too Funky"?

BTW, thanks for the other "references" guys. I will take a look at those too. Never know when you need a "good" 80's tune...that you've forgotten about because you haven't played it in so long. :)

ok lets split hairs here Bill. Its remembered as an 80's song no matter who he sings it with or when.
