Radio DJs DJ Jim Ladd is out!

Jimm Ladd- Los Angeles DJ on a classic rock station 95.5. He is the probably the last DJ that doesnt follow the rules of what to play. His show is called Freeform sundays. He basically plays what he wants , sometimes a whole album by one artist in its entirety. Sad but there are other more on...

Why Processing Can Be Beneficial To Active/Powered Speakers.

Take a car, any car. Its perfectly reliable as is driven off the lot. Could we all benefit from an external oil cooler on the transmission? Sure. Is it needed for EVERY situation? I dont think so. There is a piece of gear for every situation that it is needed.

    Denon DJ MC3000

Supposedly there has been a SC3900 released in Russia at the same time as the MC3000 . It is single deck Midi controller with a moving platter. Think DNS3700 without a CD player. If this is true , then thats the one for me.

Trying to mix and get seamless transistions in a gym type acoustics...

If you recorded straight from your Mixer output, then it will sound just as you thought they should, which Im sure sounds great. However, this is not the same as what the room heard given the situation you described with horrible echo and all. I also find it usefull to adjust my mixing on the...

    Interface for Turntables

You will need to get the "Scratch" version of Traktor. You CANNOTuse Traktor Pro or Traktor Pro2. These work with Mid. It doesnt have the Timecode encoding built in. You will need Traktor Scratch Duo or Pro or the newly released Traktor Scratch Duo or Pro 2 For the Duo version you can use the...

    Numark NS7 Controller

Dr Z what about the V7s? I see you using the AKai, maybe for effects Im assuming? the V7 has built in effects knobs which is the biggest difference from the all in one NS7. Was the mapping you used for VDJ a standard TSI file or did you map it yourself?

    School & Teen Events Subwoofers

What kind of event? Bunch of old people? Teens? If you expect all 500 on the dance floor then no, 2 subs wont cut it especially with a younger crowd. 50th Wedding anniversay with like aged people as guests in the late 60s, then 2 is barely adequate but you might get away with it. 500...

    Turntable DJs vs. CD DJs...

It seems like you like the feel of real Vinyl more than anything else. NOthing wrong with that. Numark NS7/V7 or Denon DNS3700 - They are still not your Tech 1200's but give you the clsosest feel to Vinyl and moving platters. Numark platters are a bit smaller than the Denons, These suckers are...

What DJ software are you using?

Not sure why I do it this way. When I was still using CDs, I needed software that could search quickly for requests, and I found Mixmeister and liked it. Just my comfort zone. Never dropped it even after I got Traktor. Also, Traktor Duo only has 2 decks. Mixmeister is my 3rd Deck I guess.

    Got My DN-MC6000 Today WOOT!

Anyone using this with Traktor? How is it? Sorry for the Hijack Rob LOL. Im looking at this too, just not that familiar with VDJ.

    Good Combination

Very nice ,proof that Peavey still know its shiz. That sub is a hungry speaker. The CS4000 only meets its required power. For headroom the 4080 would be preferable.

    Looking to upgrade my PA/Speakers

Talk about needing roadies to help carry this sucker out. We did some Frat parties back in the day and when it got a little crazy there was no way 1 dude could start packing shiz up and carry all the crap out.

    Looking to upgrade my PA/Speakers

OK for 400 bucks, not mind blowing bass can be had but heer is what is available from reputable brands. You really have to save may be 100 or 200 more. Being entry level offerings, they are not the best but at least you know who the heck made them and wont get a WTF look from fellow DJs...

    Numark NDX900 or Radius 3000

Dr Z, as much as I love the NS6 look, I always persuade many to not go with a controller dedicated to a single software like the ITCH controllers. Doesnt leave much options in the future if they decide they dont like ITCH. Howevere, If someone has looked at Traktor, VDJ, Rockit etc and has come...
