How much would you charge to wire DMX on uplighting?

Big difference between "setting it and forgetting it" and having to be there all event long to operate it. Make sure you charge enough for your time and effort. wedding reception lighting

Weddings Question For (Some) Wedding DJs

Most people have heard all the "standards" at other weddings- "Love Shack", etc. But beat mixing allows a DJ to present them in a different CONTEXT and create a bit of a new sound. Especially if you mix different genres together- Modern Dance into Old School Rock and so on. Makes it possible to...

LOL, you make a good point! However, trying to listen while 5 teen girls talk simultaneously can be a challenge to your sanity! school dance dj

I used to think this was ok but i've had a big change of heart.

Your points are well taken. Plus school dances are low pressure, fun and you get to learn the newer music so when someone ask for it a month later at a wedding you already know it! school dance dj

    Wedding Uplighting Newbie! Please Help

I tried mixing every possible combination of R and G, even tried adding some blue if I remember correctly. The colors I got were streaky and haloed. That's when I gave up on the Puck and sent it back. Are the values for making a good amber with a Puck 3 some kind of proprietary secret? Seems...

    Wedding Uplighting Newbie! Please Help

I'd like to see those tri leds. Do you have pics? I tried the tri color Pucks and the amber sucked! I tried searching for Blizzard Puck3 NX Unplugged and TRI SMD on your site but they don't come up. Can you post links? Thx.

    Wedding Uplighting Newbie! Please Help

I'd strongly urge anyone starting out to get rgba led units. Amber is one of the most popular colors and it's tough to do with just rgb. led uplighting

    fonts for wedding gobo images

I find that thick fonts tend to look better than say, script or thin ones. Make it bold and it will stand out. Thinner, swirly letters don't appear as prominent and can get a bit lost of there is some "haze" or halo from the light. wedding gobo

Weddings One possible reason why wedding DJ's are not as much in demand...

I am wondering if, since the average age of those getting married is trending older, they would be in a better financial position to afford spending more on their wedding than younger people. wedding dj

    Stand or Truss???

Never have really liked the overhead truss idea. Kind of has that "carnival booth" look. Tripods don't look much better. I do like the look of trusses standing up on end but that limits how much you can bolt to them. Long Beach Event Lighting

American DJ Gobo Projector LED User Review

To clarify, the pits I'm referring to seem inherent in the transparency stock itself. They are more apparent in the white or clear part of the image. You're right about the black not being dark enough.

American DJ Gobo Projector LED User Review

Thanks for the reviews. Wouldn't a power strip with a switch easily solve the no power button problem? Since the unit may at times be mounted up high, higher than one could reach without a ladder, a built in on/off switch may not be much use anyway. Has anybody found a good way to injet print...

Ben - Source Four Jr. Zoom - HELP

Hey "Skew" aint necessarily a bad thing. Think of all the logos that incorporate keystoning into their image. Hard to really know the angle until you're at the event and all tables are in place so pre-correction when making the gobo is difficult... Anyway, tell the client, "I skewed it for you...

Nice work, Steven. How are the Slimpars when it comes to amber- any halo or blotching?

    Experience with puck 3

Had a chance to compare my Pucks to a Puck 3 yesterday. Puck 3 is MUCH brighter with wider beam, But for all the talk of Puck 3s smooth color mixing, it was better than the regular Puck but not perfect. Still got significant halo effect when mixing colors to create amber & purple.
